Re: Gordon Bo-tuff; ULS vs UL
Stuart i have been using OMC for my last few orders and am very happy with their service and products. For a few dollars more per length their crystal clear glass is just that . absolutely clear! Also they stock quite a few colours in their glass as well . Just made a longbow with dark grey on the b...

Re: Gordon Bo-tuff; ULS vs UL
yup part of the reason I now only use Ul and also deal with same company. for a few dollars more they sell 'crystal clear' glass and believe me it is just that, beautiful.

Re: Time to make some orange shavings
first shot looks the best choice, good separation between early and late growth, but bit 'pithy' in the rings.Half your luck!

Re: couple of static tip curves.
thanks Ben. Can't give you any figures as my chrono is out of action, but 'gut feeling' is very well.Being a static tip type the power does come on early and they smack an arrow out , and I'm happy with performance.

Actually to my way of thinking, the denser the riser material then the more unspent energy that escapes from the release is absorbed by said wood.

that looks interesting Perry! Only drawback even if a small one is the length at 90cm. Be keen to see it, might even send for a couple myself to check them out.

Few shots here of couple bows made recently. do you shoot it straight off the hand? Ol' mate made a very small ledge from leather just enough to sit an arrow on and it sure works for him.

god one Perry, I am a fan of these types of bows too, having been comprehensively flogged by a mate using one for first time at a trad shoot., damn his hide! They seem to have a disproportionate ability to fling an arrow versus draw weight.

Re: WTB Old Bear Kodiak Magnum
I have mostly done 58'' Bear Grizzly or my take on one Itis a flawless bow but very heavy at 75#. Can't finish it off either as I am convalescing after a knee op. It will be a stunning bow, Red palm/ Burgundy future wood riser and Black palm belly lams, conkerberry overlays. It will also have ;faux'...

light weight longbow raffle,
I have made a nice light weight longbow that I am donating to my club. It is 30# [29.4#] at 28'' and is 66 ntn. It would make a great bow for a junior or perhaps a lady. The riser is Red Ash/ Silver Ash and the lams are bamboo. Black glass front and back, custom fast flight string donated by Sue and...
