Here it is Stu. PM your email address, it won't let me attach the excel spine chart for some reason.

Re: WTB Spine tester

G'day Stu, Here is a pic of the one I made. I can send you the template in PDF if you want. I found the 15 shot tube of Berocca tablets held 2 pounds of lead with a silver solder wire hook cast in. I added the extras on top later when I realised the weight of the needle over the long lever arm was c...

Re: TWO BOWS FOR SALE

G'day Preston. I have just read all this and remembered my apprehension when getting ready to make my first bow. Just a quick comment re: taper rates. The bow pictured below is 68" NTN, has a 16" riser and uniform width taper the same as Bob's longbows. It has for tapered core laminations ...

Re: A new form for extreme DR flatbow

Thanks for the support Bob, I appreciate it. I think Daryl may have considered the bow would have all of the 3 inches of reflex that is in the blank, which would probably make it a handful. I will be cutting it back to 64" NTN so it may behave more kindly.

Cheers... Rod.

Re: A new form for extreme DR flatbow

Daryl, It may end up being twitchy but I am hoping not if decent weight wood is used in the riser (16" long = 25% of a 64" NTN bow so not too far off). That Fox triple Crown looks to be all riser to me, and though it may add stability, it looks like overkill to me. I have made a 64" D...

This is the shape I have planned for the remainder of the riser that glues onto the belly glass lamination. All constructive criticism (or otherwise ;-) ) is invited?

Re: New heat strips and controller

Hehehe... better late than never. I have finally put together the temperature controller and it is doing it's maiden voyage as I write. I have to say I am more than pleased with the results of this system. Firstly I'll list the parts; The pair of heat strips as above 150 W @ 220 V - 2 m long with 1 ...

A new form for extreme DR flatbow

Been a while since I posted fellas so here is my latest project. A new flatbow form with a lot of deflex/reflex. The string nocks are inline with the back of the riser overall when cut to 60" NTN. The longer it is cut the more net reflex (i.e. preload) it has. The riser is built up in 2 stages ...

Re: Fletching tape

I like it, you just have to be careful about leaving fingerprints on the shaft where the tape is to be applied, it will come away if not clean. I always wipe down with acetone.

Don't forget a blob of superglue or fletch-tite front and rear hen you are finished though.

Re: Quality 2 Pack Epoxy Glues Are Cost Effective

Great stuff Daryl, thanks for posting. I have used Smooth-On for the 20 or so bows I have made, but I mix up about 160 grams in total to do a full length longbow blank with 4 core lams. I get it everywhere and a lot squeezes out of the bow in the first few minutes the pressure is applied, however I ...

Re: Knife and tomohawk recommendations for trad shoot

I know it is an old topic but these are good value from Cleaver firearms. Mine has taken a lot of punishment since I epoxied the handle into the head. Had to trim the blade down a bit too because it was 1/4" to wide for ABA rules.

I haven't made a successful board bow yet, but I reckon your board look better than any I have tried with.

Good luck with it, there are many fellas on here that will be able to help you.
