Re: String snapped on release?
Thanks for the replies guys. I got hold of Mark at Tradbits today and ordered a new flemish twist string for it
I hadn't thought of the nocking point Perry. Maybe you're right. That hadn't occured to me at all. How long do you guys usually go before you replace your bowstrings?

String snapped on release?
Hi guys, So about twenty minutes ago I was outside having a shoot with my Grozer Old Scythian, using a thumb release. It was all fine and normal. I nocked an arrow, drew and anchored the string, and then as I released it, not only did my arrow shoot forward, but so did the string! :surprised: Turns ...

Re: GROZER BIO COMPOSITE has arrived / and EBay Asiatic
Hi Perry, I had a go at one of those boiled leather thumb rings a little while ago and it definitely helped, but it made the skin around my thumb very sore. I guess from an incorrect fit. But for now im getting by with shooting just a 40# bow and wrapping my thumb with tape. Seems to go al...

That bow looks awesome Perry! The ebay cheapy doesn't look too bad either. It'll be interesting to see how it lasts at that price..
Are you going to try shooting it with a thumb release?

Re: with all this talk about asiatic and horse bows....
Could you tell me a little of your experiences shooting with a Thumb Ring, I am wondering if I should give it a Crack and if shooting with a Thumb Ring and off your Bowhand Thumb is sufficiently different for me to learn to use a Thumbring and not mess up shooting with a Mediteranian Loose regards ...

Awesome quiver Perry. That looks great!
I thought that four horse head symbol was quite cool. Although I can see what you're saying about it resembling the swastika. Maybe you could modify it slightly??

Re: Saluki Horn Bows
Thanks for the video Grahame, very cool 8) I did try making a leather thumbring a few years back for fun. From memory it didn't really work that well. But that link that you posted looks good. I might have a go at making one that way. I was thinking it may be easier making one.. I wasn't sure how ea...

Perry, I own a 47# Grozer Old Scythian bow and I have recently started to learn to shoot with my thumb. There are a few things I would also love to talk to people about it though and I would like to buy myself a thumbring before too long. Regarding canting the bow, I think you will find you can stil...

Hi Govannon, Its good to see another atlatl enthusiast here! I think they are great fun to use and build. I have never tried one of those carbon/aluminium ones though. I have built a fair few atlatls myself out of various woods, using bamboo for my darts and I ended up getting some pretty hu...

Well hopefully he does get back to you in good time! I dont see why he wouldn't... Although he definitely wasn't as easy to deal with as any aussie I've ever dealt with. That might just be to do with the translations though. But I definietly don't doubt his workmanship, having tried a few ...

Bushwakka swags
Hi all! Im after a new swag. I've just borrowed from my brother in the past but he is now starting to have to use it more often for work so I figured I should probably buy my own. I'm particularly after a fairly compact design. I dont want to be carrying around a huge big swag in my back pack. I've ...

Awesome Idea Rodlonq!
I own my own fletching jig that I like to use but I think, for someone that doesnt own one and wants to have a go at making their own arrows, this would be an awesome opportunity. Good Onya!

Thanks very much for your help Perry. I will have a look around at flat bows and i'll probably use your advise and try flatbows first with that plum wood that I moved.
