Re: Jules Shield Lakeside Trad shoot
I'm looking at attending my first trad event this year - is there anywhere that has the "rules" for these events? Or does each club do things differently? For example, what is a "Stalker" round as mentioned in the flyer above? Does the description "2 x 15 3D rounds x 2 arrow...

Falling in love with a bent stick...
So this all starts with a desire to want to build my own laminated longbow and go hunting with it.....however, not having the space or $$$ to tool up and make a laminated longbow I have always put it off. I'd rather do a job well with the right kit than stuff it up. So as a solution I jumped on to t...

Re: Best type of finish for a bow ?
Thanks guys - I have some tru-oil and some Minwax now - what's the merit of both? From my - limited - understanding the oil is just that, an oil and will penetrate and and be absorbed and provide protection etc, while the Minwax is a poly that is more like a coating (?) Does that mean the Minwax is ...

First harvest with the new Super Grizzly
8) Hi All Just thought I would share my first experience hunting with the Super Grizzly. I have only had it for about two weeks, but spent a bit of time getting the brace-height right, some basic arrow tuning and shooting to ensure accuracy and confidence. As I have said elsewhere, I am thrilled wit...

Re: Orange Trad Peg at QLD ABA State Titles
All right - as a relative newbie, I'll have a bite. From a new-comers perspective this is a great step. Much less intimidating and a great way to get people like me in there and having a go. You will notice I used the word "step". Being quite competitive it is highly likely that I will sta...

Re: Bear Super Grizzly or.......?
Well, I went and shot all the recurves in the shop again today....and walked out with the Super Grizzly #50 and a Selway black foam bow quiver. Went straight to the range and was thrilled by how it shoots compared to the old Samick Take-Down. So much less shock in the hand, and so much smoother to s...

Cheers guys - thanks for the ideas. I have done some research. The Super Grizzly is just in the budget, and while the other bows are awesome, they are def out of the budget for now....
I'll go and have another shoot of the Super Grizzly...and see if I an tempt myself further....

Bear Super Grizzly or.......?
