First post in a LONG time.

Nice work mate. 'The proof is in the pudding' as they say, so I hope it is working well for you.

Wow, was that three years ago.

It has probably been that many years since I posted here too.

Oh... one question.

Are you working to a pattern, historical or other wise, or have you designed this one yourself?

Hi Dave, glad your not dead :)

I used to spend a bit of time in the Medieval Reinactment circle and have not seen too many sets of armour of this size. Chasing out all that fluting would require a steady hand and an exceptionally large measure of patience.

I'm impressed.

What a great story. Thanks for sharing it.

I think that somehow when a woman can present the facts of ethical hunting it gives the idea so much more credibility than a young man can achieve. What do others think of this idea?

Don't worry Jeff. It is just a computer. It is not as though anyone died!

Information is not lost, it just may need to be shared again.

Well done on having the fore sight to make another backup.

Jeff, I think it is such a shame that we are quickly learning not to trust anyone. Scamming is wrong and always will be. I feel sorry for the people that are scammed in Australia, but also for those in poor countries that are scammed into becoming scammers for their wealthy bosses. It is no differen...

Mick, I had a similar stalemate with the NAB a short while ago. The wanted to 'verify' who I was before they would deal with me about my account. The usual date of birth, address, account number, credit limit, mothers maiden name... I told them that before I would provide any information that I woul...

I might chime in here. I never promise money or give details to anyone over the phone - Bushfire Brigade, SES, VRA or whoever because you never know for real who it is. Scammers living in Australia are the scum of the Earth. We have a government that can give people financial support so they don't h...

Re: Black wattle question

I have used black wattle for two very successful bows. You could decrown the stave if the tree had a small diameter. My tree was around 200mm diameter so the back was as good as flat anyway. You can see in the picture that the back is virtually flat. The stave here is clamped on a form for steam ben...

Congratulations Kev! Judging by the photos on the link from Grahame (thanks!) you will need a caddy or a small donkey to help you around. The scenery looks beautiful. This is truly a shameful situation. I think that in addition to pointing the finger at the decision makers concerned, the media should take its fare share of the blame. Politicians would feel less pressure to guard their backs from criticism if the media if a fair and reasonable account was given to...

Seems like a good experiment. I'll be keeping my ear to the ground on this one.

I agree with Steve, in that the limb is working pretty hard in the fades. You could narrow the limb too and drop the weight in the outer third. It seems overbuilt there anyway.
