First post in a LONG time.
Nice work mate. 'The proof is in the pudding' as they say, so I hope it is working well for you.

Oh... one question.
Are you working to a pattern, historical or other wise, or have you designed this one yourself?

Hi Dave, glad your not dead
I used to spend a bit of time in the Medieval Reinactment circle and have not seen too many sets of armour of this size. Chasing out all that fluting would require a steady hand and an exceptionally large measure of patience.
I'm impressed.

What a great story. Thanks for sharing it.
I think that somehow when a woman can present the facts of ethical hunting it gives the idea so much more credibility than a young man can achieve. What do others think of this idea?

Don't worry Jeff. It is just a computer. It is not as though anyone died!
Information is not lost, it just may need to be shared again.
Well done on having the fore sight to make another backup.

Re: Not another overseas telemarketer phonecall!!!
Jeff, I think it is such a shame that we are quickly learning not to trust anyone. Scamming is wrong and always will be. I feel sorry for the people that are scammed in Australia, but also for those in poor countries that are scammed into becoming scammers for their wealthy bosses. It is no differen...

Thanks Tony  Darren, I understand that your phone is important in your work, and that no one likes being bothered when you have just got the kids in bed and sat down for the evening with your wife. I don't think that it is possible for the person on the other end to choose the most annoying ti...

Re: Not another overseas telemarketer phonecall!!!
Mick, I had a similar stalemate with the NAB a short while ago. The wanted to 'verify' who I was before they would deal with me about my account. The usual date of birth, address, account number, credit limit, mothers maiden name... I told them that before I would provide any information that I woul...

I might chime in here. I never promise money or give details to anyone over the phone - Bushfire Brigade, SES, VRA or whoever because you never know for real who it is. Scammers living in Australia are the scum of the Earth. We have a government that can give people financial support so they don't h...

Re: Black wattle question
I have used black wattle for two very successful bows. You could decrown the stave if the tree had a small diameter. My tree was around 200mm diameter so the back was as good as flat anyway. You can see in the picture that the back is virtually flat. The stave here is clamped on a form for steam ben...

I guess that means the price is set at $1215 then. Would you be happy with that price Daryl? Seriously though, it is a fine effort. Any all timber bow, self or laminated, takes a high degree of skill to accomplish and I take my hat of to you. To add to the knowledge pool, my daughters first bow whic...

I don't know if you made a post to introduce yourself. Why not tell us a bit about what you do?

Congratulations Kev! Judging by the photos on the link from Grahame (thanks!) you will need a caddy or a small donkey to help you around. The scenery looks beautiful. Don't slip and make a divot in the turf. It looks like they have a gardener for each of the paddocks to keep things up to scratch and...

This is truly a shameful situation. I think that in addition to pointing the finger at the decision makers concerned, the media should take its fare share of the blame. Politicians would feel less pressure to guard their backs from criticism if the media if a fair and reasonable account was given to...

Seems like a good experiment. I'll be keeping my ear to the ground on this one.
I agree with Steve, in that the limb is working pretty hard in the fades. You could narrow the limb too and drop the weight in the outer third. It seems overbuilt there anyway.
