Re: X7 Arrows with Screw-In points
I also use X7 Eclipse shafts in size 2212 for my 42# and 37# recurves. Since the game I hunt in the USA is smaller than Aussie game, I bowhunt whitetail deer, javelina and small feral hogs with my 2212s. BTW, nice looking arrows. I use 3, 5" parabolic shaped feathers with white colored Easton S...

Re: Widowmaker Broadheads
Well mate, not that I use screw in broadheads, but regardless of how good they were I wouldn't buy them because of the ridiculous name alone. The name reflects badly on Bowhunters IMO. :x Jeff I don't think the name is detrimentalal to bowhunters. When I took up bowhunting in 1964, Ben Pears...

That's a beautiful recurve. Love the footed limbs too. BTW, the close up of the lacy she oak in the riser, that oak is the cat's meow.

Re: My new Thunderchild....
Great looking bow. I'm curious though. Being the bow is 58" and with your 30" draw length, I wonder if you'll experience any issues with "finger pinch". The reason I'm asking, I have a 30" draw length as well.

Yes. Short 58" bows and 30" draw lengths usually don't mesh very well together because of the finger pinch issue.Guy Layton wrote:

Evening All. A Damon Howatt 58" Mamba recurve would be a good choice for a woman with a 26" draw length. Damon Howatts are fast production made bows with a very good reputation. As a mamba owner I am of the opinion that they are a nice bow. However, in my opinion they are a bow that you s...

I'm pretty sure Bear Archery will make you a new bow. I have a feeling there was a few bows laying next to each other at the factory and somehow, someone handling the bows picked up the wrong one thinking it was 55# @ 28" and your bow was mis-marked.

dmm, I don't bare shaft tune anymore. I haven't done it for 2 years. It's time consuming and aggravating. In order to bare shaft tune, a person's arrow release has to very, very good. Just slightly pluck the string and if you don't realize it, that bare shaft where it hits on the target and how it h...

Re: Recurve bows: Shooting off the shelf vs plunger and rest
Brumbles, Even though both of my bows shoot the same 2212 aluminum arrow weighing 421 grains, they do not have the same brace heights. The brace height for my 42# recurve is 8", but the 37# recurve has a brace height of 8 3/8". I don't do any bare shaft tuning anymore. I now use Stu Miller...

Re: Recurve bows: Shooting off the shelf vs plunger and rest
Since I'm strictly a bowhunter, speed isn't a factor for me since all of my broadside arrow lung shots, which I wait for, have been between 12-17 yards. I never take a shot over 20 yards since I shoot low poundage recurves for bowhunting. The sole and main factor for me is how "quiet" both...

Re: My girl Buffy "AKA" Hoyt Buffalo
Sweet looking bow. I'd like to have one, but it's poundage is always measured at 28" when one orders one and I like to order my poundage set at 30" since I've got a 30" draw length. I hate stack in a production made bow past 28".

B50 is stretchy. Lots of creep in it. B55 is a lot less stretchy. Maybe you should make a bowstring from this material.

Outback Broadheads
I think I already know the answer to this question which is probably "no", but I thought I would ask it anyway. The 130 grain Stealth II and double bevel 130 grain Supreme caught my eye since I shoot a 130 grain point weight out of my 42# take down recurve. Is there an American (US) distri...
