Yeah, the worst part is not realising you've got some stuck to the back of your boot before you crouch down, real pain in the butt.

Re: Ferro rod use - Fire by FLINT

Yeah, from what i can gather, a spindle of 20-25mm is ideal as it allows for quite a bit of friction with the hearth board.

Re: Ferro rod use - Fire by FLINT

I would have thought an arrow shaft would be too thin in diameter to get the required amount of friction, but its good that its giving off smoke. I should have a go of that myself.

And another thought, when is a cudgel or club not a walking stick? Can you walk with a staff legally? Are definitions all about 'purpose and intent'. I have a 6 foot home made hiking stave made of jarrah with a steel tip at the bottom and wow does it make walking easier. I have been passed by cop c...

If your going to spend $1000 on a bow, id look locally first. Plenty of aussie bowyers around making great gear. As for first bows, samicks are a good option.

Do you save money on ribbies these days? I was sure they were owned by yanks these day and going for the usual rate of abou 6 bucks a head.
