Re: golden-eagle-drags-goats-off-cliff ( this isn't a bow)
A mate of mine has seen wedge tails doing the same thing to wallabies out on the jumpups. Amazing stuff! I've seen a wedgie swooping a sow and suckers and it would have had one of the little fellas if they hadn't made it to the cover of long grass. It actually grabbed one but dropped it from about 1...

Re: arrow transport
I've fit a dozen in before, but unless you had separate holders for each arrow the feathers will squash a bit where they rest against the side of the tube even if you only have 1/2 a dozen in there. It's no big deal though, just stand the feathers back up again before you shoot the arrow and they fl...

Re: arrow transport
I've carried them a couple of ways mate, in a tube with broadheads attached down the side of my pack, or slipped into the pocket on the side of my pack without broadheads attached and a waterproof fletch cover to protect the feathers from water and scrub. If I can remove the broadheads as in using c...

Re: What game can be taken with a 30 pound?
In my own and my sons experiences, a 30# bow shooting well tuned arrows, with razor sharp narrow 2 blade broadheads, will efficiently kill rabbits, hares, foxes, small pigs and small goats if you do your part and hit the heart/lung areas.

Thanks for the well wishes.

Re: Flatline MC2 50# take down recurve
I have a Border Harrier GL that is my main hunting bow. I've always been a one bow man, but I'm lucky at the moment as I get to try out different bows for Bowhunter Australia magazine.

Re: Flatline MC2 50# take down recurve
Yeah that's the one Moreton, it's a ripper mate. I don't really want to part with it, but I'm a big believer in moving things on that don't get used and I just don't use this bow often enough. I was going to keep it for another back up or for introducing others to archery, but it just seemed too muc...

Flatline MC2 50# @ 28" , 62" take down recurve. $600 + postage This is a superbly crafted bow made by Rob Nicoll of Northern QLD, it actually won the Archery Hall of Fame National bow making competition this year. Unfortunately it's a little light for me and I don't use it as often as it d...

That's a great piece of history you own Ben and a great shooter too by the looks of things.
I wish I up there shooting termite mounds with you and your faithful companion, a target rich environment like that would make for some great fun.

Re: Center Cut Longbows
I was always told that a bow cut (or arrow plate adjusted) so that the arrow lined up directly with the centre line(centreshot), would be more unforgiving to shoot then one that was cut to centre or just before centre. This is quoted from O.L. Adcock's tuning page and may shed some light on the ques...

Re: Silencers?
Mick I've had deer, rabbits and pigs jump the string, there is a reason why we try and make a bow as quiet as possible by using string silencers.
Moreton I like to separate the strands of the string and install the silencers that way.

Re: Aussie broadheads v's US broadheads???
To answer your question Mick, yes I have changed over the last few years in what broadheads I use, from some of the cheaper Australian broadheads to some of the more expensive American and in one case Australian broadheads. In the past I exclusively used Ribtek and Tusker broadheads and still do use...

Nice one Pedro.
Definately an interesting coat on that pig, the silvery tips look great. You'll have to post up some pics when you've finished with the taxidermy.

Re: Trangia, Jet Boil other light weight cooking options
Steve the Jetboil jetpower fuel canisters are a propane / isobutane mix (I can't remember the ratio) and are rated for 4 season use. Propane provides higher vapor pressure to the fuel for better performance in cold weather. Iso-butane provides more constant pressure as the fuel level gets low. I'm p...
