Re: Would Harsh Penalities Work?

The Laws are already in place, the fact they are ignored reinforces the fact that making things extra illegal won't work. Criminals don't think like law abiding citizens, they simply don't care about the Law. Sure ensure the penalties that are already in place to their fullest extent but do not puni...

Re: Getting a long bow

lots of quality Flatbows on the Market. The straight grip on the Hill style Bow can take some getting used too if you have been shooting Bows with Pistol type grips which is why I recommend starting at the lighter end of your draw weight scale. I get the heavier Arrow thing and agree with Ashby's Pe...

Re: Reversed Tapered Lamination In A Longbow Core.

Hill style American Flatbows definitely benefited from a short reverse tapered wedge in the limb tips, absolute pigs of things without this to be honest. Glenn Newell used a reverse Lamination it his heavily deflex reflexed Defiant Flatbows. It improved the shooting qualities of them quite remarkabl...

I see what you mean re the Riser Gary. Not so sure you'll get the 32" or so with a Thumb Draw but once you rough it out and begin tillering you'll work it out.

Re: Anyone Still Making Bows?

I am making what will be my last Selfbow. My Body just will not allow me to work Timber with Hand Tools any longer. The Stave has a big propeller twist and a heavily reflexed Limb as well as numerous Knots. I have never made a Bow heavier than 70# from memory and I am looking at bringing this Bow in...
