Drying sinew
I am not sure if this has been asked before on this forum, but I am wondering how to dry sinew? I am assuming it needs to be dry before beating.
Thx for any replys

Re: Alternatives to Traditional glues for Sinewing?
Ok, Thx for the replys and links I understand that composite bows may not work well around here, but its at least got to be a little better down here in NSW then QLD. Anyways performance is not a major issue for me, and I intend to take the plunge some day and attempt one, if only for the experience...

Re: Alternatives to Traditional glues for Sinewing?
Ok thx, I wonder how many Asian grocery stores I can find here on the NSW central coast, fish bladders and deer sinew would be awesome, assuming I can figure out the process of using the two. The idea of the cracking sound is making me cringe already. I wish my reenactment group had some composite b...

Re: Alternatives to Traditional glues for Sinewing?
Hi guy, Thx for the links they are realy helpful, I am going to look into the hide and fish glues now. I particularly like the idea of the liquid fish/hide glue if it is just as good as the other forms of fish/hide glue save me the worry of having to boil it. Question, do you have any idea how much ...

Alternatives to Traditional glues for Sinewing?
Hi, I want to try out a sinew backed bow and was wondering if anyone had ideas about alternate glues or perhaps how I could make or get traditional glues such as hide glue or fish bladder glue. I read years ago on an American forum about using Titebond with sinew and think I can recall that it worke...

umm i was just wondering how spotted gum takes to recurving using dry heat (eg heat gun). Couse this would save me the effort of steaming it.

I am planing to start making a recurve flatbow some time this week. But before i start i need to know what exactly stop the string from missing the curves and destringing.
