Thanks a lot fellas. Stax of suggestions. We have some of them on the agenda already but there are a bunch that sound like a great idea. I have found the address and a number for top end bowhunters so I'll just make a call when I get up there. Now, to arrange bow transportation. Thanks again. Much a...

What to do in and around darwin ?
Hey all. My family and I are going to be in and around Darwin from the 30th May till the 9th June. We're gonna be in Darwin with friends for the first few days but we are willing to go about as far as Katherine after that. I was wondering if there were any activities, places, or experiences that any...

Hi all. Dennis this is for you in particular. I have a fiberglass semi-recurve hunk-a-junk that I picked up from a mate for $15. I made another handle for it and I put the shelf in the exact centre of the bow (between tips). The handshock on this baby is incredible and after reading your post I was ...

There's a bow I'm looking at on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=014&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=330078303274&rd=1&rd=1 I was wondering what anyone had to say about it. Buy it or not ? The seller seems to have good feedback. Thankyou. R...

Gluing in Inserts.
Hi all.
I know that most of you are trad shooters but I couldn't get an account to work on Aussie bowhunter so I'm asking here.
What do you guys use to glue your inserts into your carbon shafts. I have tried numerous adhesives but none have worked efficiently at all.
Thanks.
Oliver.

There are two debates here. One: Ethical. Whether it was right for chris to shoot a cat when he wasn't 100 percent sure it was a feral. Arguments for are that it wasn't desexed, didn't have a collar or a chip Arguments against are that he was close to houses and had no definite way of knowing if it ...

Hey fellas. I love Judos. I've done pretty much the same thing as mick with them but with a milk carton (though I think I used a tennis ball once) With my compound I find them to be effective on rabbits. The first Judo-bunny collision broke the bunnies neck and my second bunny the shot was a bit low...

Yeah AntMob I have read the power of one . That was the book I was referring to as what really got me into reading. It remains my favourite book. Funnily enough I've also read ,my side of the mountain, it's a great book and really captures what I think we all see as what would be the ideal simple li...

Hi all. I was wondering how the bows feel when they shoot. With some of the models they seem to have very heavy limb tips and I was wondering how this would affect the shooting. Does it mean the bow kicks more ? I really like the look of that scythian bow. I'm still looking for a good recurve. How d...

I love Bryce cortenay. I've just finished reading his latest book whitethorn (last night) and I loved it. His most successful book, The power of one, was the first BIG book I ever read and it really got me into reading. Another good book by him is April fools day. I'ts the biography of his son who d...

My first hunt was spotlighting at my mates place up the east coast of tassie. The first time was about a year ago and his dad was the only one using the gun but since then I've returned many times and harvested a lot of game spotlighting. I had always wanted to go hunting and since starting archery ...

If it shoot's anything like an armstrong carbon backed longbow it will shoot like a full blown bushfire. It's great to see more bowyers heading in the way of carbon. Any advancement made that gives us a greater range of choice in our prospective bows is a good thing in my eyes. Look forward to heari...

This is a great idea mick. It would make it so much easier to browse and to find the info that you want. Instead of splitting traditional tackle up perhaps we could just introduce some new forums to handle things like, as mick suggested, bow making, arrow making, and maybe tackle itself could be mod...
