Buzz, Im my experience, I'd go through this check list to begin with. You may wish to check your stance. Try a slightly more open position by (R/H archer) moving your right foot forward slightly. Try a couple of different grip positions. Try keeping your bowarm slightly bent, rather than ridgidly lo...

Buzz, really like your question in relation to form... Slightly esoteric answer: "... the energy of the universe, including the alignment of the stars will determine whether thou arrow will fly true to it's mark..." :D Conceptual answer: http://www.wernerbeiter.com/en/informations/videocli...

Those guys are Watervalley. I followed the above eBay link and got the impression it was a property in Tasmania. WaterValley is 450 square miles (288000 acres- check my maths please!) of wild deer is in S.A., isn't it? Am I mistaken? Are there high fences containing the deer? Here is the link I got...

Anyone interested in purchasing a Check Mate Hunter II? 52#, 62", black locust limbs, bubinga and black walnut riser. I enjoy shooting this bow very much but I have hardly shot it since devoting my time to mastering my new longbow. It is in very good condition, however it has a small bubble (ha...

Graeme K, thanks for your post, I didn't envisage the necessity of creating any criteria to qualify as a bow manufacturer and still can't think of any reason for doing so. Thanks for added the Butterworth info., much appreciated. Perhaps fantasy, but it would be interesting to get hold of some of the fibreglass moulds/forms for the bows that Len used in order to preserve them for a "museum". Any ideas?

No buts about it, you need to butt heads with a good butt design. But then, the butt contents could be but simple cotton. I tried all butts but the obvious; before stuffing a BIG cardboard box butt very tightly with an old futon and taping it from head to butt. Works (and is lasting) better than a b...

It will be interesting to total the number of bowyers for each decade and look at the how the industry has grown and in which regions.
