g-day i have and shoot a yumi bow, and its great, 45 pounds at 34 draw inchs the max distance i get with mine is 160-170 yards abouts, mine is bamboo backed i got mine from a mate whos had it for years. but it is something different to shoot and i love it, but the longbow is still better. :D 8) see ...

i wouldnt touch the stuff made i've had a few homemade bows blow up in my face it hurts, anyway the wood would be two heavy, you could always give it a try, first time for everything i suppose.

dose any have or know where to get 38-41 inch arrow shafts in australia,
i've tried copperhead shafts but he said i had to geth the wood up to him myself (which is a bit hard i live so far away! ha) or he suggested i make my own.

i cant stand back quivers they just dont sit right, and i hate the straps over my shoulders i dont know why they just feel weired oh well
i prefur a side quiver or i just stick the arrows in my back pocket.
i suppose everyones allowed to something different.

duz anyone know how to make bamboo arrow i presume you use a certain bamboo and sand down where the joins r and how do you cut self knocks and how duz fletching go on the shafts

yeah i have to be with mick on this one i tried bows for ages befor i found the right which is 7 1/2 foot Yumi bow. but i still prefere the longbow. try and get one second hand if possibly like Mick suggested all of mine are and they work just as well as a new one hope you find the right soon see ya...
