Re: Opinions on Samick SKB traditional Horsebow

Great little bows for the money. A modern version of a traditional bow with wide limbs and yes you can throw it around a bit. If you want you could drop the poundage and go for the carbon version of the SKB (the Mind 50 Carbon - have a look on our shop site) then you still get the punch ;)

Re: The Longbow Shop expands - big thanks to you all!

Thanks for that fellas :) 5 years seems such a long time ago! It's great and couldn't be happier. Been hard work and lots of hours to get to this point but well worth it. Those pics were a couple of weeks ago so we have a lot more stock in now. There's another 70 english longbows couple of Grozer ho...

The Longbow Shop expands - big thanks to you all!

Hi all I've been very busy the last few months expanding The Longbow Shop here in the UK. It's been a hell of a ride but we are finally there! 1,400sqft of retail premises with a shooting range and filled to the brim with trad only products :) I'd like to take the opportunity to say a massive thanks...

Holler if you need to know anything about the bows. I'm the UK dealer for Falco and have just sorted out the custom side of things with them.

Good Shooting

John and myself are also dealers for Vario products. Seems they are now back in business properly so we both have large orders going in on a regular basis.

Re: Bear Paw self nock jig.

Hi Kev New one on it's way today. I've sent in another reply to the distributor but also copied Baerpaw in themselves with a direct link to this thread. I don't think their explanation is good enough in this case so we'll see what happens. Thanks for the support and the business guys it's appreciate...

Re: Bear Paw self nock jig.

Update mate: first of all. After spoken to Mr. Bodnik again, there is only one more customer who had a problem with the collet of the self nocking tool. So in our opinion it is not a material problem. Please excuse my bad english, I hope I can explain it that you will understand. The nocking tool ha...

Hi Kev No mate as the supplier the issue rests with me in the first instance so you'll have a new one regardless :) Chased them again today and got this response: Dear Jason, I’m sorry for our late response. After spoken to Mr. Bodnik, the owner of Bearpaw Products, we must tell you, that you...

Update

Have chased a few times now Kev and still no direct response from Beier (distributor of Bearpaw products). As soon as I get something from them you'll know mate. I'll put another one in the post for you myself this week and try to get it back from them.

Cheers

Re: Trying hard to give up the smokes...open to suggestions

Everyone does it differently. I can only give you my experience. I smoked 30 a day for a long long time and started when I was 12. I gave up when I was 36 and tried everything under the sun including hynotherapy during those years. I eventually gave up by reading a book by Alan Carr on how to pack i...

It seems Eugen who owned Eternal and was the manufacturer of Vario is now employed by Tony so all should be OK now. About to restock The Longbow Shop as well :)

Re: Dremel based arrow saws.

Hmmm, can't really afford a clamp right now, but did get some good ideas at Bunnings! I had a look around back here and found some of the hinges that the young man called Rory used in his design and will use the best of them. I have some L- shaped aluminium door tracking, too, so a design is gradua...

Re: Found a place for Varios.

Be careful guys - the guy that ran Eternal (Eugen) had some 'money' issues and vanished to Thailand. Some dealers where still owed stock. It appears that 'Toni' now employs Eugen in his business making Vario gear. It's taken them 3 months to get a dealer price list to me and I'm sure John (jcm) know...

Re: Has anyone tried these Hexshafts

Hi - trialed these a few years ago for the shop and wasn't impressed to be honest. They don't show you the pin hole that runs all the way through the shaft. The marketing blurb is great but you's be better with a nice fir shaft. There is only one dealer selling them in the UK so that should tell you...

New bow on it's way

Hi all - as some of you might know I'm a target archer from UK. I've just pressed the button on a present for my 40th... a brand new English Longbow built by UK bowyer Keith Raynor. It's going to have the following: Osage belly, Wenge accent, Purpleheart core, Wenge accent and a Bamboo back. It will...

Re: how do you finish your wood arrows?

Depends on what type of finish you're after. Over the years I have pretty much tried and tested everything available. If you want a hardwearing coating then I use a sanding sealer and then 3 thin coats of Rustins Plastic Coating. Gives a brilliant finish to the grain - nice and deep, flexes with the...
