Re: My New EV.

Seems like you have your battery charging all sorted and hopefully will not have any problems. I have not had any problems either but, like you, I don't leave my batteries on the chargers unattended. Interesting you mention your EGO battery powered mower; we have a couple of EGO tools as well. We ha...

Re: My New EV.

Jeff, The trike comes with a smart charger which shuts down when the battery reaches the correct level. It would appear that a lot of the battery fires occurring in scooters and the like are caused by people using inappropriate chargers i.e. buying a faster charger online to reduce charging times. ...

Great it is able to make life easier for you Daryl. My concern is the charging of the lithium-ion batteries on these types of things. Just seems too many fires are being caused by them. Stay safe.

It looks good strung too. I would prefer a thicker handle section also.

Looks great Daryl. I hope the styrofoam won't melt onto the arrows. Also you will only be shooting lighter bow & arrow combos I guess as it isn't very thick?

Re: Woomera longbow by Ausbow Industries.

The maker wouldn't agree with me I'm sure but to me they were rather average. I'm relating to the bows made back in the 1980's and 1990's. They had horrible Australian made glass but that may have changed to Gordon's glass in the later 90's. They were chunky, flat laid with 18" risers and the f...

The bow doesn't look to be a three piece with the limbs bolted on backwards to me but it is strung backwards and she is drawing it backwards. You would think they would check such things. :surprised:

Re: Rainbow #1 (pardon the pun)

My comment regarding the reflex being different in the limbs was because in the photo of the strung bow it looked like the reflex point was sharper on the top limb compared with the bottom. It may just be the angle of the photo. I would like to see a photo of it at full draw just to see the bend in ...

Re: Rainbow #1 (pardon the pun)

Good onya for making your own bow. A couple of observations, those limbs look uneven in the amount of reflex in each. Have you got a photo of the the bow at full draw? Another suggestion is to not have a square cut shelf like you have as when the riser (handle) flexes, and it will, it can cause it t...

G'day Nicholas, I refrained from replying as I am a novice self bow maker having only made a couple of Osage self bows which shoot just fine. A silly idea and an ugly bow IMO. They don't even know the limb design, calling it a reflex/deflex rather then correctly calling it deflex/reflex design. Also when describing the bow at the beginning he says right hand but shows left handed and then left hand and shows right handed.

Re: American Semi Longbow (ASL)

The American Longbow is not to be confused with what is now marketed as a modern longbow or hybrid longbow which is just modern marketing pseudo term for what was called a semi-recurve prior to the 90's. IFFA (The International Field Archery Association) does not recognize the modern or hybrid long...
