Re: Snakeskin backing

I bought some python skins from Simon Martin whips in Tassie. Good quality and big! Put on my 44inch osage plains indian bow on top of roo tendon. 45lb at 22inch. Bloody hard to shoot though Have you got some photos? Those little Indian bows would take some getting used to shooting accurately. Jeff

Re: Life after Archery:

Alex, That seems strange. Perhaps go on one of the American Trad forums and ask where the best place is to get bow making supplies and I'm sure you would be pointed in the right direction. Hope you get it sorted quickly.

G'day Alex, Sorry but I haven't ordered any glass or bow making gear for quite a few years. I still have some supplies here. It seems freight charges from the USA are exorbitant!!! They always were high but in recent years they have increased to the ridiculous.

Great to see you have found a way to extend your time outdoors Daryl; enjoy! Alex, Yes it seems Facebook etc has taken over from forums. Yes very special. I have a number of his bows etc that I would like to see go to a museum but sadly the national bodies don't have one as yet. Hopefully one day.

Good work and very interesting. I know Dennis La Varenne was always interested in your mathematical modelling. I have the last bow he ever made, a beautiful Yew flat bow.

Probably to do with what snakes are protected and in what country. Will be interesting seeing them used on one of your bows.

Seems like you have your battery charging all sorted and hopefully will not have any problems. I have not had any problems either but, like you, I don't leave my batteries on the chargers unattended. Interesting you mention your EGO battery powered mower; we have a couple of EGO tools as well. We ha...

Re: My New EV.

Jeff, The trike comes with a smart charger which shuts down when the battery reaches the correct level. It would appear that a lot of the battery fires occurring in scooters and the like are caused by people using inappropriate chargers i.e. buying a faster charger online to reduce charging times. ...

Great it is able to make life easier for you Daryl. My concern is the charging of the lithium-ion batteries on these types of things. Just seems too many fires are being caused by them. Stay safe.

Looks great Daryl. I hope the styrofoam won't melt onto the arrows. Also you will only be shooting lighter bow & arrow combos I guess as it isn't very thick?
