Re: 2015 Barambah Trad Bash

Awesome photos Mark!

We had a great weekend, many thanks to the Barambah club putting on such a fun and friendly shoot. Bit cold on a night though, next year I think I'll be bringing a few more layers or maybe a caravan...

OK now I'm confused....I thought the lancewood in question was also known as coachwood, and is the northern version of brigalow. Some sort of dryland acacia? :?

Hi DWD,

Not a lot going on up here in the hotter months I'm afraid. But if you're up this way and feel the need to shoot, generally we'll have a bit of a wander round the course on a Sunday. You're welcome to come along, drop me a line if you feel inclined.

Mick,

Talk to Sue and Steve about arrows when you see them at Ballarat. Steve's quandong shafts are a little heavier than POC but the consistency and the way they fly more than makes up for it.

G'day Mick, Sounds like you've solved your conundrum....choose a bow you're comfortable shooting all day, that you can still pick up and draw on the second day of the comp. The flat trajectory of a heavier bow won't be real flat if it hurts too much to pull, and besides, you'd be surprised how many ...

North Albert Field Archers

http://www.northalbert.com/

Just off the Pacific Highway midway between the Gold Coast and Brisbane. Challenging courses, great people, good food and cold beers. And of course the yearly trad shoot at Easter.

I reckon a regular local trad shoot has got to be a good thing....It does get really disheartening and frustrating at a regular shoot being stuck behind a few groups of compound shooters taking their time. I try and slow down by missing a lot and spending time looking for arrows, that seems to help ...

G'day Jase, A lot depends on whether you want a reflex-deflex or traditional flat flatbow, an off-the-shelf or a custom bow. For range of bows (imports and local) and good advice make the journey down to Wales Archery in Cardiff. They won't try to sell you something you don't want. Saggitarius are s...
