Re: article on Dallas Conway.
Grew up reading about Dallas - I think it was Outdoors magazine - reading all about his 55lb recurve - shooting POC shafts and Davies delta broadheads - smashing the pigs in the Macquarie Marshes. His exploits inspired me to get my first recurve.

If you go to K-Mart you can get the old style Styrofoam boogie boards - plain not plastic backed. Get about 4 should be about $10 each. Cut them in half so you have 8 sections. Wrap them up in masking tape and wellla - one big Styrofoam block - its the perfect stop for f/pts and b/heads. Whilst the ...

Thanks Sue - was to great to catch up with you and Steve and all the others who took the plunge (pun intended). Although the rain may have dampened the ground - it didn't dampen the enthusiasm - and the way I was shooting - glad the score sheets also got drowned - I too thank Rob and Di for all thei...

Martin Mamba - R/H #55 - $500 ONO
Bow is in very good condition - no limb twist - cosmetically only blemish are two screw holes in riser - holes have been professionally repaired by master bowyer Nick Lintern (Norseman Long Bows). Bow is fast, quiet and a great shooter - can include 8 Steve Wallace arrows (and a bunch of others timb...

Tom/Perry - many thanks guys for the assistance - yes I think I will be in for a challenge - there is also a series of YouTube vids by a guy name Joel Turner Ironmindhunting.com - who shoots modern recurves off the shelf - both right and left - with a thumb ring with apparent success....so I'll give...

Thumb Ring for recurve
Having suffered an injury to my right hand and specifically the tendon of my ring finger - as I shoot split finger I find it very painful to shoot my bow and 3 under is no better. So I was thinking of using a thumb ring. So does anyone have any experience with using a thumb ring for their recurve ? ...

Creeping Quiver
For those of you who may have a Thunderhorn Boa quiver - how do you stop the hood and arrow holder from creeping up the limbs - I have them both as tight as I dare i.e. on the 3rd hole from the end and have tried double sided tape and other means but they still move. Not a deal breaker and its still...

I shoot a Martin Mamba 58" 55#@28" and shoot split finger or Mediterranean (call it what you will) and after a shooting session of a few hours I end up with a blister on the tip of my right ring finger whereas all other fingers are fine. So is this "finger pinch" I have heard abo...

Re: Draw length question
A more accurate method, which takes in shoulder width, is the 'wing span method'. With your back and head to the wall, spread your arms out wide at shoulder height to form a 'T'. Place a mark at the very ends of your fingertips and measure this distance. This is your wingspan. Now divide this figur...

Does the extra weight of a strap on bow quiver, ie Boa or Selway, and it being attached to the limbs help to quieten the bow at all ?
