Sorry, I mucked up the first post some how and it never appeared. The gist of it is that We are saddened that you are having these problems and we are proud to know a person that God thinks so highly of that He would present them with such a challenge. God is fair and just and being so, he would nev...

I'm a foreigner here too and in another life I also shot the compound with fingers. Since coming over from "the dark side" I have found that traditional bows are so much more fun to shoot. It takes the technical side out of the process and leaves just yourself and the shot to deal with. I ...

Making your own micarta at home? Dang! y'all are really serious about this "do it all right from the beginning" business! That alone ought to put your project in the traditional class of archery equipment. I am curious though, just how does one go about making micarta at home? And, you can...

I don't think that micarta can be molded or cast as is regular plastic. I assume then that a micarta nock would have to be machined or carved in some manner. wouldn't that make them prohibitively expensive? If you are going to do all that carving, why not just use bone or horn? It will look better a...

Yes, feathers do come in parabolic shape an in several lengths in that profile. Yes, your fletching jig will accept either vanes or feathers. You may have to make some minor adjustments to it, but they are minimal. Yes they go on the same way. I'm not too sure what adhesives you have available there...

Yes sir! That 's well done, and then again that set up does provide you with a lot of incentive to not miss the mark, doesn't it? Either that or you have an unlimited supply of arrows. I personally don't shoot well enough to draw in my target rings that close to a steel fence post. That is what you ...

At 33" there aren't many choices in wooden shafting materials from the "usual suspects", but you may want to look to alternative sources. You are going to need a quite heavy spine at that shaft length especially if you have any significant weight at all on the front end. Furniture mak...

Hubris, your point is well taken, I agree that hunters everywhere should be prepared to answer our detractors on this question. I, personally believe that the difference between we Humans and the rest of the animal world is how we deal with or react to pain. Most of the animals that we hunt are not ...

Nice looking bow that you have there! I have a question though. It appears that there are two nock sets crimped onto the string. It is something different for me, or is it just the photo that makes it look that way?

Just a short comment to Dennis La Varenne, DANG! Don't get your knickers in a knot over it. I didn't mean to get you all worked up over this and I did not suggest that one should "try" to leave an arrow in the body cavity rather than pass through. I only asked if there was any consideratio...

Have any of you considered that a braodhead still in an animal would continue to "work" or be moved around when the animal runs, thus increasing the size of the internal wound? True, this would not necessarily help much in a producing a blood trail if the arrow does indeed act as a plug, s...

Sounds like you may be a candidate or a warf bow. There is a thread on it in the general discussion forum. I don't know about in Australia, but here in the U.S. there are about a gazillion "out of date" compounds on the used market that will provide a very nice platform to mount some recur...

I just wanted to say hello from up here in the Northern reaches of the world. I have just located your site, and kudos to you for a wonderful one!
