If your out there enough you too can learn these calls just by instinct and through time spent with your quarry and a bit of common sense.Havent found an animal yet that you can't call!

Re: What makes a good hunter?

This is easy! 1st thing you need to be a good hunter is to be a good shot with your weapon of choice if you intend to kill it. 2nd thing you need to be a good hunter is to find you prey your self and I mean not by making a phone call to pay to play I mean go find the animal your self. 3rd thing you ...

Re: Sambar double

Perhaps you should have a more appropriate handle than "stickbow Hunter" ! You think so; well I like it and that is all that matters. Afterall I have been Bowhunting with my longbows and self bows for well over thirty years. Here is some advice from me! The kill area front on with a Samba...

Re: Sambar double

Congrats on taking those magnificent animals Captain! In saying the above I do feel compelled to bring to the attention of those new and perhaps not so new to Bowhunting that the shot on the stag was a very low percentage shot and not one that should be taken IMO. The kill area of a front on shot l...

I had a look at the ABA records, not that I'm a fan of record books, but it truely puts into perspective how rare and awesome that stag is. Particularly for a Trad archer. Once again, well done. Well done. When you put in the hours like you do, you deserve to bump into a stag like that. Have you scored/measured him yet? I'm dreaming of/planning my maiden Sambar hunt next winter. I knew they are tough, but a four hour tracking job, that is something else, especially given the shot placement...
