Re: Show off your favourite bows!
Check these bows out! One piece construction, working handle, about 10# at about 18" draw or something like that, polyethylene tape decorations and they have fantastic memories attached for the kids. The best thing about these bows is they will hopefully inspire my kids to carry on like their o...

New norseman longbow! Lucky me!
Hi all, I just received my 30th birthday present from wife and girls... Valkyrie norseman 50# @ 26". African wenge riser with clear glass over bamboo limbs. I reckon she's a stunner! She shoots sweet too, I haven't shot in years and it just felt perfect with the custom setup. Will be playing al...

Heritage carbon arrows
Hi all, I know they aren't traditional but I was wondering if anyone here has used carbon fibre arrows such as these in a long bow?
What are the pros and cons?
Cheers

Re: Howard hill style back quiver
Thanks for the advice all.
I guess I will make do with my hip quiver for now and hopefully score some leather one day.

Howard hill style back quiver
Hey does anyone know where you can get a cheap back quiver in this style or does anyone have one they want to sell or swap for an unused field hip quiver I have?
Alternatively does anyone know where to get cheap leather to make one? Even just a treated goat skin will do...

Re: Starting a shop
Actually come to think of it mate I make slings that throw rocks. Maybe you would want to chuck a couple on your shelf? See attached photo.
They are mad fun for just flinging rocks around, they launch them a fair way!
PM me if you are interested. Cheers man

Thanks heaps for that reply mate!
So the rut and the hormones foul up the meat by the sound of it?
How do you age the venison?

Thanks everyone. I won't make the gathering this year unfortunately but I've booked it in for 2015... At least that buys me some time to get back into it!
Thanks again!

Harvesting deer for meat
Hi everyone,
Is there a better time of year to harvest deer meat? Eg does the rut affect meat etc?
Does a buck taste different to a doe?
Forgive my ignorance I haven't been so lucky as to chase deer yet.

There have been some pretty cool discussions and I really like the advice and support everyone gives each other. I'm based in central west nsw so will hopefully be able to attend some shoots and m...
