I checked, I've got 3/2219's.
Need some 2215/2213's myself.

Re: For those that like their wood work
There seems to be a big jump in the footage from split log "staves" to planks. That's a LOT of chopping going on there.

Ascent. Another film by Clay Hayes.
Another worthy film from this fellow. Highly recommend it. Well worth the 15 minutes of your time.

Re: Draw length question
To add to (simplify?) Perrys method of measuring your draw length without a lovely assistant, substitute one of her clothes pegs for the O ring. Almost every household would have some. Worked for me, and I didn't even think of using one of the O rings I've been keeping because it would come in handy...

Re: Sambar Stag
Well that is disappointing. I can see their side of the argument, but I think the policy is doing a greater disservice to bowhunting in general. Just my opinion, but I'll stick to it. I'm not a ABA member, but then I live in the only state with a ban on bowhunting, so my membership goes to SSAA. Reg...

Re: Sambar Stag
I had a look at the ABA records, not that I'm a fan of record books, but it truely puts into perspective how rare and awesome that stag is. Particularly for a Trad archer. Once again, well done.

Re: Sambar Stag
Well done. When you put in the hours like you do, you deserve to bump into a stag like that. Have you scored/measured him yet? I'm dreaming of/planning my maiden Sambar hunt next winter. I knew they are tough, but a four hour tracking job, that is something else, especially given the shot placement....

Re: Traditional archery new starters
Mitch, I'm no expert myself having only gotten serious about archery in the last 12 months. But I can offer a few pointers while not leading you astray. For cheap (I prefer 'great value') bows keep your eye on this forum. They don't come up every week, but now and then comes a great buy. They will b...

Re: Bamboo back failure
Daryl, the crack opened up in the bamboo, it did not penetrate through to the belly. The bow was glued up using marine epoxy from a fiberglass specialist, clamped using inner tube strips and a couple of quick grip clamps in the problem spots. The epoxy brand is unknown to me, it appears to have been...

Thanks Sue.
The forum name goes back to a bloke making a play on one of my nicknames, which stemmed from my surname. If all that makes sense. Still kinda appropriate and just seemed a good fit for this application.

Bamboo back failure
Hi to all the contributors to this site. I have learned heaps here, having lurked in the background for about a year, and searching through old posts. So thanks to all that take the time share their knowledge. I am currently working on my third serious attempt at making a bow. All have been backed f...
