japanese knives both still for sale!

i have for sale the following knives - both were bought in japan a couple of years ago, and these ones don't see any use, so they are now for sale. both feature "san-mai" blades, which basically means 3 layers. the outside layers are damascus, with a central working layer of very high carb...

Re: Bow Weight and Multi-Users

it really depends on what she can handle mate. i wouldn't buy a bow of any given poundage for myself (let alone someone else) if i didn't know i'd be able to handle it comfortably, or at least work up to it without too much hassle. first i'd be sure of what weight is ideal for her before making a bo...

Re: Stuffing carbons for weight.....

fair enough kim, but so far i haven't had any trouble getting close enough to the weight i'm after with it all up front. i have found both carbons and alloys to be noticeably louder than woods - and stuffing them with something definately does help - which is a plus. the last time i went there - cla...

Re: Toelke Bows VS Black Widows and Centaur

in the trad shoots i go to these days (not often at all unfortunately) i don't bother playing by the rules anymore (some of which i find a tad pedantic). i still pay my fee and shoot the same round as everyone else, but i use my carbons and deflex/reflex bows, and don't bother with the scorecard. i'...

Re: Toelke Bows VS Black Widows and Centaur

Simon: it has the slightest hint of deflex when strung - wouldn't see it unless you looked up close. Tommo - seems i was mistaken slightly. i never did post up the figures for that whip, due to me short drawing it slightly and not hitting anchor (it stacked slightly at my drawlength, hence why i use...

It is about 56 pound and shoots a 500 grain carbon at 190fps through my chrono and is an absolute joy to shoot. As I am getting older I am starting to lean more to lighter bows and this seems about perfect for everyday use so the Robertson will be up for sale very soon. ahhh - seeing the light mate....

Re: Toelke Bows VS Black Widows and Centaur

yeah mate - i put a post up late last year which had figures for the toelke and the centaur, will see if i can find it and post a link. the widow figures were done by a yank i know which were good for comparison since it was tested at a 30" draw length, just like my centaur and toelke.
