Re: New Mongolian Bow...

That is.amazing. I have always wanted one of those things. They're wonderful, and there are so few people who know how to make them. I didn't know anyone even had a real Mongolian composite bow who wasn't a Mongolian, or a curator or something. Was it hard for you to find it? Well congratulations, c...

Re: White Wolf Long Hunter wrong draw weight

I have heard that some bows can feel very differently to their draw weight but I suspected this was beyond that right away. With my fifty pound bow, if I shot it for three hours the day before I have trouble holding it at full draw and my accuracy suffers, but no matter how much I've used it and tir...

White Wolf Long Hunter wrong draw weight

I got a White Wolf Long Hunter arrived a few days ago and it's a bit of an odd one. It's absolutely beautiful and shoots amazingly - almost no noise and super fast, at least compared to my old cheap bows, but it was meant to be 53 pounds draw weight - it says 53 @ 28 on the signature. I shoot a 50 p...

Re: Osage Bow Staves.

When I brought a traditional bow home with me from New Guinea, it had bug holes in it, and the customs officer just put a white piece of paper on the desk and tapped the bow over it. He said since no wood dust fell on the paper it was ok and I was allowed to take it through right then.

Re: Bow Licence in NSW???

Ah yes, their solution for everything is restrictions, and banning things. A very lazy, superficial solution I think. If people are doing things you don't like and you want them to change the way they act you need to connect with them and influence them positively. More rules and restrictions I thin...

Re: Surely it must be cruel and unethical to eat meat...

That is a wonderful article, thank you for posting. I really feel this way towards the kind of vegans that don't think it's right to harm an animal under any circumstances (like PETA etc.), that they are being unnatural and putting themselves outside the cycles of nature, I just get the feeling they...

Re: I need help with bamboo shafts please.

You could try find someone in China who sells points that are the right size, there are a few sellers on Ebay I know of who make up arrows and can probably sell you the points you want - even if they don't have a page for them they can probably make one for you if you contact them. I used to have so...

Re: Sharing a great tip for when you get the 'yips'

I have noticed the same thing- if I'm in a bad head space then nocking and shooting fast always makes me shoot better. Some times when I'm not as frazzled, but not as clear as I'd like, I do better when I hold for three seconds. But when my mind is clear and I'm shooting my best I shoot almost as fa...

Re: Goldtip traditionals, tuning observations and Stu's calc

I shoot these Goldtip 7595's with a 50 pound longbow, and they shoot dead straight with 185 grain field points, 29 inch shafts. Though if the flemish string is twisted up a few less twists than usual they start to go a bit wonky and don't sit straight in the target. Regards Goldtip traditionals vs. ...
