Re: Kryal Castle shoot this w/end! 11 Jan '14 (Ballarat VIC)
Oh crud, I didn't know it was the same weekend as the Ballarat club one. I went to the Ballarat one last year, and it was great. Mind you, I don't blame Kryal Castle, as the Ballarat Bowhunters facebook page and website hasn't said anything at all for months, much less announced if they're having a ...

Re: ...aaaaand the media attack on the game council continue
I saw "7.30 Report" on ABC last night, talking about how hunters shouldn't be allowed in national parks in NSW. It was very one-sided, so much so that I was disappointed even already knowing that ABC was left-leaning. - No mention of successful Nat Parks hunting in other states - no interv...

Re: Bows that qualify for trad shoots and restrictions
Dear Littlejohn, are you the bow police? If you feel so threatened by someone with arrows you don't like, shooting in a different category to you or not even scoring, then I suggest LOOK at yourself! You're reading this "Trad Site" on a computer device that has at least 1000 times more tra...

Re: Bows that qualify for trad shoots and restrictions
Yes some fliers do have information which is great. Just not all, I would have thought it a common enough question that it is worthy of being on a flyer instead of the organiser of the event getting 50 phone calls? Just my opinion. Seems like many shooters have been in the scene for a long time and ...

Re: Bows that qualify for trad shoots and restrictions
Well how about trad shoots put a summary of their rules on their advertisements? It would really help me as a person newly returned to the sport, who owns only carbon arrows and no flu-flus. eg. choose one of Arrows: carbon or aly permitted / carbon or aly permitted but no prize / wood arrows only F...

You won't like this then... Every Australian taxpayer's taxation information is at risk after criminals infiltrated the taxation system, finding a way to use the personal information of tax agents to log into the Tax Agent Portal. Re: 100# Hunting recurve, what would it be like?
Sorry to hear you damaged the joint, joints are painful (you know that already) and slow to heal. Mine was 60% after a few months, I reinjured it and I didn't get back to 100% for over a year, maybe closer to two. The only help/advice I can give is that you need to let it heal for months not weeks, ...

Re: Lilydale Bowmen 100 Australia day weekend 26-28 Jan 2013
Agreed, and well hosted by Lilydale Bowmen. It would be hard to find a more accomodating, friendly, and helpful bunch. When it went wrong, two de-railed wheely bows were rebuilt in a flash, a trad shooter had strings made up on the spot I think, and a lost engagement ring found. Great raffles and no...

Re: The Amazing Lilydale Traditional Raffle
I don't know the people personally, but I believe I remember the names
Bob Ellis for the bow, and Feral from NSW for the arrows.
A very kind wheelie shooter won the arrows originally and donated them back for a redraw,
named Ken maybe?? Well done to him.

Re: How many new achers are we getting into the sport
DVA's first come-n-try night after Christmas was HUGE, dozens of people. I recently got back into it after about 20 years off. Sure there's some popular culture reminding people of their archery heritage, such as films/tv, but while that will get the interest, much more long-term is the need for a g...
