The issue regarding Bow Divisions/Rules has been debated for years on this Forum. The problem/stumbling block appears to be a lack of clear definitions and agreeance.

Morning. I have been a member of this site for over decade. In that time I am aware of only one Yumi style bow being made by members of this site. There are reason why the Japanese do not make 80lb plus bows. (If it is intended to shoot it with a Japanese style glove you will probably need to make a...

As Daryl has suggested 'performance' is more than just arrow speed. e.g. Go shorter to gain speed and you may suffer from 'Finger Pinch' and decreased accuracy.

Re: Hoyt Formula Limbs on a 19" Buffalo Bow - Draweight Calc

Hi Ron. I own a Win & Win olympic style bow with ILF Limbs, and rule of thumb is the length of the riser makes approx 2+ lb per inch difference. I am not sure that it works the same for Furmula system, but it would have to be close as it is only a means of attaching limb to riser. So on that bas...

That shouldbe a question for the eytmoligists and lexicographers.

What is an appropriate abbreviation for Longbow/long bow/etc.? That decision would effectively determine what be appropriate for English Longbow/whatever.
