Been a While

Howdy folks, it's been a while since I have been on Ozbow but see there are still plenty of familiar faces around..In short, about 5 years ago I fell off a jetty and landed on the side of a boat and snapped a tendon just above my elbow on my left arm. As it turns out it was the tendon that stops my a...

Re: Split fingers to 3 Under

My bow is a Grey Beard Longbow, sleeve type and when it is together and strung you wouldn't know it's a 2 piece...I did put a post up on the ABA website and a reply said I can shoot in modern longbow..

Re: Split fingers to 3 Under

G'day Paul...Thanks for the info,I might shoot the ABA an email and see what they say...The reason I prefer a 2 piece is that from past experience if I decide to sell a bow,a I piece is a real pain as far as shipping goes...Where as a 2 piece will go through the post...

Re: Split fingers to 3 Under

Cheers Bob...In my quest to improve my shooting I am going to go down in weight to about 45#...I need to buy another bow and as much as I prefer 2 piece if I can't shoot it at ABA I will have to go 1 piece...

Split fingers to 3 Under

At the moment I shoot split fingers...I have a Greybeard Longbow,53#@28...I am thinking of changing to 3 under and try to start shooting point of aim and was wondering if I need to change anything on the bow to do this...ie..nocking point...At the moment I just focus on the target, draw the arrow and...

Around Berry

I was driving home down from the state of origin on Thursday morning after NSW won...We were not too far from Berry and in the middle of nowhere about 50m from the road there were about a dozen deer in the paddock...It was about 11.30..I didn't see too much of them but my wife gave me the count and ...

Thanks for the reply Jeff and I hope we are not taking this thread too far off track...I think a lot of the misunderstanding is in calling it the front and belly as apposed to the front and back of the bow which a lot of people who are not told otherwise would relate to,myself included until I joine...

Thanks for the reply Rod...That's where I have always measured from as well but I have heard a lot of people calling the back of the bow the side that is closest to the archer as described in my above post...

Re: Two Longbows for sale...make that one Longbow for sale

Hi fella's...This is maybe a stupid question but are you measuring the draw length from the back of the bow shelf(closest point from string to bow or from string to the front of the bow(furthest point of bow away from archer)...I have heard over the years of people measuring from all different point...
