Re: Broadhead Weight to use

I have always found that it is overall arrow weight that leads to looping cast not heavy point. I shoot 735 grain arrow at about 60 pound recurve with 500 of that in the point.
Nice and flat flight 165 FPS

Re: NBFArchers 2018 Trad Weekend

So I see on the flyer that your flu flus need blunts and mine have field points on them.
As some shoots need points n them so they stick in the flying discs what do people do for this
I guess the best way is to have some with each.

Re: NBFArchers 2018 Trad Weekend

Rummaged through the shed and found some mixed half sets of different wood arrows so am ready for this shoot.
I think some may have been from the Mary Rose or what ever that boat was called with the old longbows on it.
Cant wait it will be great to catch up with the old faces again.

Re: String maker's wax

I tried what I was told was straight bees wax but it was always sticky and everything stuck to it so started to add a bit of paraffin to make it
a little harder when rubbed into the string. Seeing others that would know use straight wax with no problems maybe I had some dodgy wax.

Amazing new bow material...

So the wife and I went to the Abbey Medieval festival and despite a case of food poisoning it was a good day. It is amazing to see how in character both the stall holders and the visitors get with costumes everywhere. I stopped at any of the tents making/selling bows and had a bit of a look and stop...

Be great to catch up with you two. You would both have so much to offer newer guys about bow making and hunting in general.
Perry I think it was about 35 a night for non hunters a few weeks ago when I was down there. It is Jackles Hide near Tenterfield
but open to other ideas on location.
