Gazza super glue (cryo) and a dryer sheet will help you fix that torn ear depending on where the tear is. PM me if you want details.

Re: fox skin

Gaz as Bill has said you must open up the ear quickly and thoroughlyor the hair will slip. If you plan on tanning your own skins on a regular basis or even hunt enough in which you cape your game heads it may justify purchasing an ear opening tool. It looks like an elongated set of pliers (Kinda) th...

I see disrespect from the government and those who hold office is everywhere. As a Marine and nephew, son, cousin, and so on of those who served with your brave men in Vietnam I salute all of those who have suffered for God, Family and Country. Peace be with you all. Especially to those who lost the...

Re: Chundoo Wood

Well the chundoo shafts came in. 6 really good shafts, 2 decent and 4 that really need to be srtaightened. They are 23/64 diameter so I am off to get a new tapering tool since mine is worn out, some banana cut feathers and nocks. John I am going to send you some recipes that are fairly easy to prepa...

Patience my friend lots of patience. You must never rush anything and plan for the worst case scenario just to be safe. But you cannot let fear take over what you want to accomplish. Here in the next few weeks I will be working on a diarama that will have two pigs fighting so I will post kind of a b...

Re: Flicks for Stickbow Hunter

Thanks Jeff. After I flesh salt and degrease the animals I put them in an acid bath to cure the skin then I actually tan them. If after all that they still smell even a little I have a special concoction that I use to deodorize them which leaves a nice lavender scent and totally kills the smell that...

I like to use a small three sided mill file used for detail wood working. The teeth are very small, you have three working sides(One wears out simply flip it) it takes off metal from the BHeasier without all the big teeth cuts left in the BH. and I think it simply puts a better edge on the cutting b...

You can also try Stos, Zwickeys, Grizzlies and Aces I have used them all with the latter three being my go to heads along with the Magnus. My favorites are first Grizzlies then Zwickey, Aces then Magnus all in a variety of sizes. The Grizzlies are single bevel edged with a hard angel chisel point in...

Unfortunately whats said is very true. The old adage the rich get richer is true. Unfair business tactics are now the norm from home lending to petroleum and everywhere in between, food, clothing, basic things are now outsourced to other countries instead of kept in house to take care of our own. Has anyone ever made arras out of asian Chundoo wood here? I just ordered a dozen shafts an am going to try them out.
