Hope it actually gets read by the minister and not by one of his staff who then just bins it.

Re: Hinterland trad shoot 2016 in question

None of the nay sayers would have asked any of the trad shooters who turned up what they thought about the food and disorganisation. They would have been put back in their box if they had. I had a great time and would gladly come again. Sorry to hear that news Shrek.

Re: Thoughts and wishes for Roadie and Heather

Enjoyed the weekend with Roadie. Took my swag out to the club and after the shoot on Sunday Roadie popped up to the hospital to see Heather. When he got back we had a few ales, red wines, ports and finished the night with a malt whiskey.

Re: Mounted Archery

Primitive Archery magazine did a series on horse archery a while ago. I fished around and found Dec/Jan 2009-2010 has part 2, I didn't get the issue before and it says there is a part 3 ( don't know if there are any more after that). But the fella that wrote the articles put in his email address, yo...

Re: Lakeside Traditional Shoot

Yes it was a ripper shoot. Not a big crowd but excellent range and interesting targets. The gorrilla jumping down from the trees was a beauty. Some of the pegs had two targets to shoot at and if you weren't looking carefully enough it was easy to miss some hiding in the grass.

I can attest to the draw knife tearing spotted gum. I ripped out a chunk about 1 inch wide from not being careful with it. :(

Qantas and Virgin are putting on extra flights at cheap rates for those Tiger passengers and the airport workers strike for this week has been called off. What's there to be cynical about?

Re: Lakeside Traditional Shoot

I think they want nominations mainly for catering purposes. Cameron would prefer you nominate and pull out if you can't make it rather than just turn up.

I wonder if you can purchase some of those targets or if they were made especially for the comp. The griffon type one looked a beauty.

Re: making my first set of woods, a couple of Q's

Most important is to make sure your nock is across the grain. That way the arrow has less chance of splitting down the grain of the wood and all your arrows will be spined the same. Different sides of an arrow will have different spine.

Re: Instinct arrow tuning conundrum

In reguards to your paper testing with helicle fletch question, if you set the paper stand up only 10 feet away from you the arrow should not have enough time to start spinning before it has passed through the paper. You should still see if your getting any fish tailing or porpoising because the fle...

How to stop being asked stupid questions

This was e-mailed to me so I can't attest to the truth of it, but it's too good not to be true. In a portion of an ABC radio interview between a female broadcaster and General Cosgrove who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military Headquarters. FEMALE INTERVIEWER: So, General Cosg...

Re: Lakeside Traditional Shoot

The shoot is open to all trad archers. About the creek being shallow enough to collect arrows. Last year it was but stank to high heaven and I was not going in. The bad side of the depth is that arrows stuck in the mud just under surface of the water. I would rather it deep so the arrows just float ...
