Hi Chase,
Not Sound Garden, but a band calling themselves "Monster Truck" (can't get much more redneck than that... )

Re: Stills with video
Well, that sounds like a program I need to check out! I've used lightroom and photoshop for years so it sounds like the Premiere program would be an easy learn.

Re: Stills with video
Hi Grahame,
How is Premiere for co-coordinating sound (ie music) inside the show? Is it a reasonably intuitive program or is it a Photoshop/Lightroom type learning curve?
You've piqued my interest now. lol

Good day people :) Haven't poked my nose in here for awhile so I figured I should see what was going on on the other side of the globe. I was looking through about a terabyte of pictures a few days ago and decided to have a go at making a short video that incorporated both stills and video...

Winter on the Alaska Hwy
While you folks are sweltering in the summer temps, we are on a slightly different track in this part of the world. :) My wife has taken a 4 month internship in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, as part of her Masters degree, so on December 28 we left south Vancouver Island and I drove her the (approx) 2...

Re: Hunting & the other half
My wife hunts. If you have seen any of my photo's in the "photography" section you'll know she goes the distance and, like me, her happy place is far from roads and people. As our children are getting to the point of making their own way in life many of our "vacations" are now ex...

whitetails and GSP's
... not GPS's :) Probably the last hunt for me this year and Hel and I did our annual whitetail trip to our cabin in the southern interior of BC. We took our younger (4 yr old) German shorthair pointer (GSP) with us this year, not to use him while deer hunting but just an outing for him. Our old GSP...

It's always fun getting up close and personal with animals like that. I used my Chekmate which is about 56# at my draw (30"), bamboo arrows, rosewood self nock and a tusker broad head. Runs about 730 gr in weight. The arrow in the pictures above is my grouse arrow- yellow cedar with f...

Re: BC Moose hunt
Hey Jeff, Finally got lucky with one of the slobber noses. :) Not too much of a tale. One of the guys tagged an almost clone of this one earlier in the week so I was prowling the end of the lake where he got his, looking for another. The rut really hadn't started so calling wasn't being as effective...

BC Moose hunt
I have been fortunate this year in being able to get a a fair bit of hunting in around the province. Mostly, it seems, packing game off the mountain for my wife... :) but that's ok. Finally got a chance to let my 'curve see the wilds on a moose hunt in central BC. A lower elevation hunt than I'm usu...

Re: Another BC adventure
Hi Jeff, The curve is going moose hunting. :) On our longer trips weight is an issue so a secondary "critter getter" is a tough option and my bow usually stays at home unless there is a third person packing a rifle. We have a healthy population of our version of land based great whites (gr...

Re: Another BC adventure
Hi Grahame, NWT is a bit too far away... :) Plus I would have to hire a guide to hunt there. Each province/territory regulates its own wildlife and dictates who can hunt there and how. In BC, every year I can take any Canadian resident on a "Permit to accompany" for a lot of species. Some ...

Hello all. Been awhile since I've dropped in (that pesky work and life thing seems to get in the way). Finally took a month off and headed out for 3 weeks of wilderness hunting with my wife. Two separate trips but here are some pics from the first one. RC After last year's “no tag cut” sheep hunt, H...

The Nearly Epic Stone Sheep hunt
It had been 25 years since I chased my first Stone sheep. Lightening had struck for me on that first hunt and I took a decent ram. I was hoping it would strike again for another novice sheep hunter (my wife) and it did… unfortunately it was the high voltage type and it hit the ground near our camp o...

Re: Spring.... and a quest for grizzly bears
Hi Clinton, This is my 4th tag in the past 20 years - but I don't put in every year either. Still looking to put a G-bear on the ground. :) Seems that when I don't have a tag I bump into them on a regular basis... when I do have one it's like bear repellant! Oh well, it's a good excuse to go out and...

Thanks guys.
Jeff: work has had me on the road waaaayyyy too much in the past 3 months. Not much time for photo taking or posting! Happily home for awhile- at least until the wife and I head out in early August for a 2 week fly-in mountain sheep hunt up north.

Spring.... and a quest for grizzly bears
So as you folks roll towards winter the flip side of the world heads in summer. My wife and I both drew permits for grizzly bear in the central coast region of BC. We spent 14 days looking for the elusive g-bear. She was hunting with her muzzle loader and I was going to pack my trusty recurve ... un...
