Hi Scott, how's it going? What, not enough dear in the Brisbane valley for you mate? I know there are a lot of dear in the high-lands around Queenstown, but that time of year you would be neck deep in snow, maybe somewhere further north and at a lower altitude would be better. I don't have any conta...

Hey Stuart, the last couple of times I've ordered glass from Binghams I have had a bit of a whinge about an earlier order and added a comment that I require faultless glass because I make a premium product and I wont accept crap glass. It's all been good since then and haven't had to pay any extra. ...

Re: Is this Osage
I've seen this timber in person. IMHO it's not any of the above, it is more yellow than it looks in the photos, not red enough for Cooktown ironwood, crows ash I'm not sure of but crows foot ash is another name for tulip oak and it's definitely not that, I think it could be yellow walnut.

Hi Toby, That is a very common place for a riser to crack, it does seem to happen when there is a dramatic drop in humidity along with a rise in temperature, I think that, combined with a little stress from drawing the bow can be the straw that does the damage. But here is how to fix it. You will ne...

Great stuff Bob, beautiful combo. I know what you mean about the rain, I reckon I could get a job as a drought breaker, all I'd have to do is take an almost finished bow to where ever they need the rain and I'm sure it would follow .

Now that you've done a couple it will get easier to judge your core thickness. I reckon you'll nail your next one.

Going great guns Rod. That's quite a twist you've got going on there. I would be getting as much adjustment out of the nock tip as possible, it's surprising how narrow you can make them, just have a look at any Nick Lintern long bow and you will see what I mean, I've seen some that are flat out bein...

Wow Woodie, Ya gona have some fun laying that one up. But I'm sure you're up to the task.
Might pay to add another couple of clamps/braces on the ends of your form, with curves like that there'll be some serious pressure to straighten that hose and bend/break your form.
