Re: heavy, extreme FOC hunting arrows (5575) for 60lb
Is your bow cut past centre ? What sort of bow is it ? I have built up carbons , alloys and even woodies with extra FOC , but that was a tuning issue rather than me searching for extra oomph and I tended to do it, if possible , with steel b'head adapters and brass inserts to get the desired weight I...

Re: Now I know people dont like crossbows
Cool story ..... I realy like crossbows and never understood the negativity towards them ... particularly from other archers . My mate had a really well set up one .. uber quiet . With my competition wheelie rig I'd shoot circles around him all day long ... it was cool , just not that hunting friend...

Mikaluger... the fella who is shooting the best FITA longbow scores in the country shoots at DVA ... and they have great field courses . Lilydale's courses are beautiful too and worth the drive ... you also have Yarra Bowman and Kew Archers ... they are both FITA clubs and there are a few floating a...

Re: use of aluminium and carbon arrows at trad shoots
I love the idea of non competitive shoots and we hold 'informal ' ones every once in a while . I am planning on next year going to a couple of the big Non competitive shoots in the USA like Denton Hill and Cloverdale ... But I am also a fan of the competitive shoot , I think it can raise the standar...

Re: use of aluminium and carbon arrows at trad shoots
Lastly I would love to see a Shoot that instead of Archers competing for Trophy's they come along, pay their Cash, can spend days wandering shooting the coarses enjoying the company of their Comrades, perhaps some experience Coaches to help Archers improve their shooting Form, stop by a Workshop an...

Re: use of aluminium and carbon arrows at trad shoots
i have done nearly all my hunting with woodies and often competed with them . I ove shooting IFAA as everyone in "longbow" is shooting woodies ... is there anything better than seeing an archer with a back quiver full of nicely made woodies , longbow in hand ... it epitomizes archery to me...

Re: use of aluminium and carbon arrows at trad shoots
Little John ... wood arrows are the best arrows ... what the cool kids who sit up the back of the bus shoot from their bows eh ! However , I'd suggest that not everyone has the time nor space nor inclination nor knowledge on how to make good wood arrows .. it's a pity but in the spirit of inclusion ...

I don't run dogs .. and I have come across many absolute bogan hoodlums over the years, utes chock full of ill trained aggressive dogs .... these same gents whomI have worked with on occasion speak openly about cutting fences and poaching and they expressed how it is 'the norm' amongst 'doggers' ......

he will be a force to be reckoned with in the years to come ... knocking off Brady Ellison twice in the past year means this kid has arrived on the world stage ... watch out next Olympics !

Re: Transitioning from target to hunting bow.
stringwalking is devastatingly accurate ... just look at their scores in IBO ! it ain't my cup of tea .. for hunting I remain an instinctive pick a spotter ... but I do have a rig being slowly put together for face walking / string walking for some FITA / IFAA stuff ... keen to give it a try anyway ...

Taylor Worth smashes Brady Ellison , possibly the best known target archer on the planet out of the olympics and not a word on the telly or radio but plenty of repeats of "lil aussiebattlers" coming 242nd out of 241 in the pool ... the jingoistic retarded media coverage is not just embaras...

When you say shooting "instinctive" do you mean you just want to shoot some form of barebow or do mean literally "instinctive" as Jeff suggests , with no use of any sighting refernce , arrow points etc ... ? They are all good ... I recently , in beginning train for field tourneys...

My Predator is probably the fastest easy to shoot wooden recurve that I have ever shot . The remind me of a hot rodded ol' Bear Super Kodiak that has been to the hot rod service centre

I shoot Hill style longbows that are 66" in string follow and 68" straight or reflexed , weighing between 50 - 60lb's at my draw of just on 26.5 - 27" ... and I am just on 5' 10". I shoot these bows with a slight bend at the elbow and uber low wrist grip. My curves I shoot at 28....
