Hey Bill,
here is the Hilbre screw on.One only to trade for the cedar shafts if you are interested. It has never been used and it's pretty trick how they just screw on to woods, I don't know anything about these heads or how old they are.Have you seen them before?

Re: To cant, or not to cant
G'day Simon, I shoot my recurve vertical because it seems to be easier to get good alinment that way which is very important when shooting the curves. But for me longbows and selfbows are canted it's just how they naturaly come to hand. As Jeff said canting a longbow opens your sight window where th...

That is some beautiful wood and a nice looking bow. Thanks KellyG, the heartwood and the sapwood colours have a great natural contrast I think. I just saw this. Great looking bow John with lots of character. You are doing some great things with that Hickory wattle. I was impressed the good results ...

Re: Ozzie Hickory Self Bow
Hamish it took a lot of set right to the tips but with a bit of heat I reflexed the them back even with the handle. The reflex gave in a little but the effect on performance is incredible it went from being a dog to a really good shooter.

Yes Jeff it's mostly sapwood I have made a few from the heartwood but they would need backing I think.

Re: Couple of pics from Wisemans
Macca, what is more amazing is that he shot the tournament with his wifes bow and some arrows that he borrowed from a mate and the last arrow he shot on the challenge round had no point he just sharpened it up with a penknife and hit the kill on a 3D deer at about 30 yards downhill now that is good s...

Re: Predator Hunter takedown, thoughts?
Macca, I have heard that the Predator brand has changed hands and is no longer warrenting bows made before sometime(don't know the date). It seems to be only a problem on the black parts my wifes Custom Classic has a red elm feature lam. on the back and it is fine but the belly is black and it has p...

Re: Predator Hunter takedown, thoughts?
Hey Macca, Predators are top line recurves I had a Hunter model that I really loved shooting but the grip was a bit fat and didn't agree my bow hand (now got a Bob Lee Bow which fits like a glove). My wife has a Custom Classic model which she loves. They really are great quality bows with only one is...

You should talk to Nisk Lintern (Noresman Bows) about his explorer model.I've got a 50# @ 28"x 64" and it spits heavy arrows.Everyone I've shot with remarks on it,s speed.
I can post some photos if you like.

Retillered Holmegaard bow
Hello all, I have finally shot-in my changes after Dennis sent me back to the workshop and I'm very happy with the results. The bow picked up a little speed from the reduction of the outer limbs even though it lost 2 pounds in the retillering process ( I don't have a crony but the "point on"...
