Wanted to swap
Looking to swap my flatliner bow for a norseman longbow. Flatliner is 53# at 28. And is 58" long. Will come with a bolt on bow quiver. Bow has been used for hunting. Norseman would ideally be between 48-55# and in good nic. Prefer a local swap (Cairns) as Im not too fussed to post. Depending on...

Those chasing photos send me email or phone number in pm and I will flick them through. The files are too big to post and too painful on the "smart phone" to sort out. One set of photos sent.

Re: Keeping skins
Thanks woodie. So I don't need to be walking around with a bag of salt it my pack? I heard iodised salt is no good if you plan to tan? So it's alright to skin them, roll them up (fur facing out?), until you get home and scrap the excess fat off and string them out?
Thanks for your help.

Keeping skins
Just after some advice, let's say that I want to keep some of the skins from animals that have been harvested. What's the best way from field to using them that gets the best results.
Foe instance if I got a rabbit and have skinned it, what would be the process after that?

I have a Hennessey but will be buying one of these when I can afford it. Made in Tassie and look like the goods. http://www.tiergear.com.au/ Worth a look. I am heavy so have good insulation and have found the standard Hennessey to be somewhat cold, even in September north of Cairns. Like everyone ha...

Osage orange
Does anyone know how to get onto some Osage orange for a self bow or is that like asking where all the deer hang out. Bit iffy on getting something internationally as the dollar is garbage and I don't trust it.

Re: Spine question
So moving on from spine. My nock is high when I bareshaft. I have been moving my nocking point higher? Does that sound right? With a bow square (Carter) I have gone higher than the last etched lines. Still seems to be nock high. Could it be a flaw in my form causing it?
