Re: Bidwillii Build-along.
That is a pity Daryl. I know it happens with self bows at times but often a lot of work takes place before it gets to the point of no return. I have used Bearpaw glass exclusively for a number of years and can vouch for its clarity. Only inherent problem with it is spine values seem to change from r...

Re: bow for my boys
there are some quite good recurves by various makers that are very cheap and have the advantage of being able to change limbs as needed if one buys a takedown John Mc Donald of AMSO 128 or Griffo's Trad arrows could set you up quite cheaply with a Samick or Cartel or similar for probably couple hund...

Re: Reversed Tapered Lamination In A Longbow Core.
To my thinking using a full length reverse taper is just like using a parallel, in place of the taper.Cant see the logic. However I have incorporated a reverse tip taper of some 8'' in length to facilitate a longer draw of some 30'' + in my 68'' longbows. Just allows the tips a little more resistanc...

Longbow.
As I haven't posted here in quite a while I thought I better get my act together Few shots of a recent Asl type longbow but with a "pistol grip " riser. Bow is 68'' NTN and riser woods are black Bean/ Burdekin Plum and belly lams are hairy oak. As the new owner has a very long draw I also ...

Re: Reducing weight in a fibreglass longbow
Hi There Tom. You can reduce the weight a bit by filling the edges of the limbs with file or rough sandpaper Work from riser to tips bevelling the edges until there is a " corner" of wood chowing. It is. possible to drop up to 5 # doing this. If it hasn't had a lot of sanding then some mor...

Re: Gotta love the ringed Gidgee
Great work! Must admit I really like ringed gidgee as well, but am a bit wary of using larger amounts in , say a riser as been told all the rings are actually flaws in the wood. Right or wrong I don't know, but apparently USA Bowyer a while back had a bow come apart .
