Hello Grahame, trust you are well. did you know Lakeside are having a traditional shoot 17 and 18 July? My Yamaha is labelled "yth" on the bottom limb, as you see in attached photo. I believe it stands for 'take-down hunter',,,,, which it has done!!! The limbs slot into riser and are 'tool...

WTB limbs for a Yamaha yth 58" (take-down recurve)

I am hoping someone out there has a set of 50lb limbs for the above bow which I purchased about 1980,, or a complete bow, as my present set of limbs are a bit knocked around.

Thanks for the tips Simon, Jeff,, but no leaves are available. I will work at it and see how it turns out. I have made a few longbows from Queensland silver ash and they were okay. I passed on the best ones and kept the not so good ones for myself. Of course they broke due to timber/grain defects. F...

The photos I have placed here are eucalypt froma stand of bush being cleared for a new road - near Brisbane. I split this half log today as it was showing a few small longitudinal cracks. I don't know what this timber is called but would like to know in case teh longbow I make actually turns out oka...
