Thanks, Stace, I missed that bit  . Silver wood doesn't help much anyway, as I hadn't heard of it in any case. I think there is another thread on here somewhere on arrow woods. Think I'll do a search.....

Nothing like a nice set of finely crafted arrows. Quite enjoy making them as well. Next step to go the whole hog from scratch. What timber are the shafts made from?

The map is on page 2 of the flier(back in about the 8th post of this thread), but when you get approx 500km's north of Brisvegas, you will come to a place called Benaraby with a longish bridge crossing the Boyne River. Immediately after the bridge, on the right is a Caltex Service Station and on the...

Don't have to be a member of ABA,3DAAA or anything else. Doesn't matter if you are either. It is an open invitation shoot. The club has independant insurance.

I have found the good quality commercial rubber ones are quite good and last well. There is a cheaper one which knots up and looks like crap as well as becoming reduced in effectiveness. However, one of the blokes up here keeps his old dacron strings when they break and cuts them into small pieces a...

Kelvin, some of us here in Gladstone have talked about trying to get over if we can, so some more details early on would probably be very useful in helping decide. It was really good this year having Bruce and Amber again as well as Eddie, Jim, Caroline and Terry and we really appreciate that they m...

I think there are a few going to try to get up. You know, last chance at the range and all but I'm not sure how many. There's a few heading off on hunting trips as well in the next weeks as well so it might be a case of juggling finances to do both and shoots usually come second. Anyway, I think I'l...

Thanks 'ol buddy. There's some good info there........ in fact, as per the other thread, some quite good reading on lots of topics on TG. I've clocked up a good couple of hours there since Erron brought it to our attention, although I hadn't happened upon that one yet.

Thanks chaps. I only want them for the bow bird novelty event at trad shoots, so they wont get used very often. In which case I might go for the 6 fletch with all lairy colours, as it wont really matter if it takes me a bit longer to make them. I might make some the other way as well and see how muc...

Sue, tried to email for info but got undeliverable message??? Do we have to nominate or just turn up, and how much for non 3DAAA? must be something wrong with my mail server. Some work, others dont? I tried to send you one about the muster weeks ago and it didn't work either.
Thanks

Yes it can be a problem finding suitable weekends. The muster used to be on a 'normal' weekend later in the year but we grabbed the opportunity to move to this one to allow more travelling time. Most people only have to chuck a sickie  ( I mean, take a day's holiday :D ) on the friday or leave...
