Re: Winchester Knives

+1 for Ragweed forge. Ragnar is a very nice fellow and has always given me great service with the orders I've made with him. There are bigger Mora style knives on his site. Also, you could look at buying a blade from him and make your own knife. Warning : it's addictive though. The scandi knives (es...

Another place to try is knife shows. I've picked up some antler at the Melbourne knife show before. Makes great knife handles. Regards, Charlie.

Re: A couple of new Bushcraft knives - Garcia & Jawerth

Really fine knives. I'm a big scandi fan - I love the first one (Skookum ?), normally bushcraft knives have a spear point (to facilitate hole boring, I think). I don't like the spear point - I have no problem boring a hole with a normal scandi blade. I've bored a hole through some birdseye maple whe...

Re: Bow Drill Success!!!

Well done Steven J - I'm going to try this sometime - been meaning to for a while. I can make fire from flint and steel (not the modern firesteel method - the OLD method) and while I'm no pro - I'm consistently getting sparks on the charcloth and then flame. The bow n drill is the ultimate challenge...
