Re: What sort of butts do you prefer?
I Had a bit of a chuckle when I read the topic and the first line Mick When it comes to butts and the missus I prefer mine sorta round and curvy. Im probably with Perry on this one using natural terrain, and love the shots of Jeffs. I think there should be at least one or two like that on a course ,...

Broadheads?
Does anyone have any nightArchery broadheads , final justice and rest in peace that they'd be willing to part with to fill some more holes in my Aussie broadhead collection?

Re: Can You Id these Old Broadheads
The second head looks like an early Ren Hooker split ring ferrule head, modified woul need to compare it with an original to confirm it though, again sold commercially.
The red head I recognise but can't Recall the Id, still have to get the rest of my stuff from Melbourne

The second last head is a modified Herb Rudwick head (barbs removed) from Ballarat circa 1955, sold commercially.

My latest bow.
Was going to title this Hybrid bow just to get Jeffs attention but
I'd call it a recurve.
It is mine just have put an arrow through it yet, that inconvenient thing called work has held me up.
Adjustable draw between 50 and 70lb
Cheers,
Mike

Re: BROADHEADS AD ABSURDUM
Hi Mick, it's been a while :) nice head that first one Bill :) Nothing like a change to make you reassess some life goals :) It's good to see some familiar faces still around though. With the heads we are seeing in this thread if you go back through the history of commercial broadheads and look at t...

The head that is an imitation knapped head is a Ropers but not steel Dennis but die cast aluminium, the head with fish hooks on it :) was used for bird hunting, the other two are early mechanical heads, the complex looking one a the bottom is a hawk matrix, the name of the first escapes me and all m...

Five! Well done, it is always great to hear of feral cats being shot; they kill so much of our native wildlife. Jeff Better make that six now and theres at least another 3 that I haven't got yet. Got a bucket full of cats skulls brewing in the shed now and skins everywhere :D Anyone know wh...

I was wondering what you were up to these days Mike. Good to see you are keeping busy. I like your knife. I like the forged look. It looks like something an ork would use :) How about a sheath. Now that is much better. :D You will have to show us another when you have it sharpened up. The handle is nice, is it some type of burl? Jeff The handle was made with offcuts from a Burl I cut a riser from. Can't recall the exact botanical name but it was from a eucalypt in SA. Was good enough to s...
