Re: Well thats a heap of fun!!
It really is a nice bow, and I was surprised at how light it is compared to Bill's compounds and my recurve.
It will be a fair while before I can draw it more than about 20cms though

I am extremely jealous, I would really love to see the American North West - Yellowstone and the Colorado Rockies are very very high on my 'must visit' list

I've never been to Yaouk but it's supposed to be really beautiful. Pretty much surrounded by national parks. Heaps of native wildlife as well as good fishing and hunting! Oh, and snow

'When' we win lotto you're both welcome any time! LOL, I was just going to post that. I'm getting this week's lotto numbers from a ferret who appears to have been dumped in the bush, but made his way to the highway at the exact right moment to be seen - at night - by a passing motorist who just hap...

At that age, I reckon any quality time that they spend with you will be memorable :) The camping trip is a great idea. Are you handy? Perhaps you can work on a project together around the house, like building a cubby house or chook pen, or painting some walls - something they can show off and be pro...

longclaw. people do refer to some of the pigs up here as saddlebacks so that is probably them. when you say 'old breed of pig' how old? is it still around? when would it have been introduced do you think/know? i have seen a lot of ginger pigs lately, but no adult 'saddlebacks'. there must be a snea...

a sow and her suckers not more than a week old, and about the size of a coke can came wondering my way. i stood up and behind the tree ready. they were gorgeous little things, black front and back and white through the middle (there is a cow variety similar but i can't recall the name). Belted gall...

Moreton, what you describe is a common issue on internet fora. http://languagelog.ldc.upenn.edu/myl/llog/duty_calls.png Edit: Admittedly I'm new, but I actually think the discussions on these boards are generally quite civilised. You should see the carry-on that regularly occurs on dog enthusiast fo...

Longclaw, Marinated in a spicy chilli sauce and thrown quickly onto a hot BBQ is always a nice option but I am very partial to a red wine rabbit stew! Tony Which cuts of the bunny do you use Tony? Or do you split them in half, like Portuguese chicken? It sounds delicious, as does the red wine stew!...

I think you guys would be rolling on the floor watching the Lifestyle Food Channel right now  Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall is taking a bunch of squeamish city folk who can't cook, and presented them with a brace of gutted bunnies. Sorry to revive a relatively old topic, but if anyone in the Canberra/Cooma NSW area is looking for a place to go ferreting, send me a PM! Good ferreters are worth their weight in gold I reckon, and a swiftly snapped neck is a much more humane death for the bunnies than the options offered by the ra...

I think we're going to head up to Tuggeranong this Sunday. Lyneham sounds great but it adds another 1/2 hour to our trip each way. We'll definitely make the trip up there at some point though
