I will be driving up to Gladstone on Monday, is it still possible to drive through Bundaberg or even Gladstone?

Re: 'Tough' Cameras
Well I have finally bought a camera. Although it has nothing to do with the threads title, I have bought a Canon 1000D (non-IS) with 18-55mm lens, and I bought a 50-300mm lens as well. Total price was $629 from Clive Peeters. The main reason for not buying a Tough camera is price. For a little bit m...

Re: 'Tough' Cameras
Jeff I didn't mean to say the cameras I mentioned are waterproof. I meant in addition to one of those cameras I would buy a waterproof cheapy. As it turns out the Samsung is just a p & s camera with a monster zoom - I thought it was classified as a DSLR  Jeff I think you are right in terms...

Re: 'Tough' Cameras
Thanks Jeff. What I will do is buy two cameras, a cheap waterproof point and shoot for my water activities, and a DSLR for everything else. I am now tossing up between a Samsung WB5500, or buying a Canon SX120is. The canon only has 10x zoom compared to 26x for the Samsung, and is probably considered...

'Tough' Cameras
Hey All Hope you all had a good Christmas. I would like to know the opinions of people who have far more experience in the world of photography than myself. These 'Tough' new compact cameras that on the market, such as the olympus 3000, the 8010, the panasonic Tf2?, are they worth the money? Like mo...

Archery Club in Gladstone?
Hi All
Just wondering if there is an archery club in Gladstone? I am moving up there for about a year for work and it would be nice to loose a few arrows while I'm there.
Cheers,
Dylan

I used Jeff's advice on my wooden arrows, and they turned up beautifully. Just put three coats everywhere, even where the feathers go.

Re: Trying hard to give up the smokes...open to suggestions
Mate I'm not a smoker and never was, but something that tends to help me when i'm faced with a problem, is to analyze it. Think of why you want a smoke, and why it gives you satisfaction? What are the side effects of having one/many smokes? Will I be happier in the end or is it a short lived happine...

Re: Fluffys in a string
I think trial and error is the way to go, as all bows have different characteristics. Wherever you feel the bow is quietest, and where you can't feel the difference in arrow speed is the spot to put them.

Re: Eagles Flight
Yep just bought one a few weeks ago. Nice quiver and seems to be well made although I have nothing to compare it to. I bought the one that has the snakeskin and normal leather and it looks like the snake skin is painted on (probly isn't). Straps onto the bow nice and tight without moving too. Only n...

I used to use a hacksaw blade and cut it off manually, then sand the end on sandpaper on a flat surface. Never had a prob with it not being straight.

WTB Strap on 4 arrow bow quiver
Hey People
Looking for a 4 arrows strap on bow quiver. A mini boa would be nice but I'll consider whatever comes up. Are the quivers that have the arrows lined up better than the ones that have 2 forward and 2 back a bit?
Thanks,
Dylan

Re: Forge Oven?
This might be too late, but unless your going to line the inside of the hebel with refractory cement, I wouldnt bother. The hebel started to crack from the inside and eventually broke in two although it still worked when I pushed it together and held it there. I want a heavier duty forge that wont b...

I put nivea moisturiser cream on the outside of the fingers. I find it suppresses the leather from 'furring' up.

Self bows
Gday All
When making a self bow, to get some curve to the limbs, could you not string the bow backwards for a night or two until the limbs set, then string it the right way around? Wouldnt it save steaming the limbs and the like?
Just a thought,
Dylan
