Hi guys, well the trip is over and unfortunately i did not manage to get a deer on the ground. The hunt started pretty well with a few reds sighted on the first day they were staying pretty quite and it was tough going trying to get close enough for a shot . Not a good start to our trip one of my companions has just cut his finger pulling a broadhead from the butt. On the plus side I got a bit of practice blood trailing and the doctor at emergency got to practice his sewing. those silver flame broadheads are razor sharp straight out of the box.

QLD red deer hunt this week

Well the time has finally come to try to harvest a red deer with my longbow I leaving tomorrow for a five day hunt with QLD bowhunting safaris hopefully I will be able to give you guys daily updates. Wish me luck guys I"m going to need it.

I have not made a set of wood arrows for a while i have paint everywhere except the crown dip the feather splice is going to be fun I supose I will need Flu Flu's as well

saxons have a good club and are very friendly there are a few trad shooters in the area we just hide in with the high tech guys give them a try

Hi mate black widow bows have completed bows on there website now and there are a few longbows,they do not list a price just make an offer they may be from there test bows. Hope that is some help

thanks Matt I will give that a try the worst that can happen is I shoot some holes in the back of my shed. Gene more hunting sounds like a great way to practice too wish I had time to get away.

I have just brought a pair of Alpin 8.5x50 from Lancasters in the states they are excellant every one I have shown them to wants a pair and with the high $ you will come in well under your $300 budget.

Samick Devastator takedown recurve 62"sold

I have decided to sell my Samick Devastator it is a right hand 60# @28”.The bow is in excellent condition and comes with a new string plus the original. I do not have the use for this bow anymore. I’m asking $450 postage included.
