When I bought in my Helle knife it was posted on the website, but like everything else with the governing body things change. By the looks of the website it looks like ...

I have bought a couple of knives in Al, any blade under 4" in length that is not double edged is right but if it is longer they will probably take it. I had one taken that was 4 1/2", went through hell to get it back and sworte won't bring another in over the 4" mark. Then again I thi...

Dennis, I have to echo the to forementioned posts, that was a great read. You are toltally right about having to know what we/our equipment is capable of, something that is often lost in equipment choice these days.

I don't think putting in just a small piece will work real well. The bit of rubber will slide up and down inside the shaft as it is released and in flight. I would be trying other methods to weight the shaft. Try irrigation tubing, it weighs about 4gpi. Also like Miick suggested try some light dowel...

My idea is to get the arrow completely through and out on the ground, purely as to bleed the animal out as quickly as possible and to aid in tracking. Entry and exit is what I aim for everytime.I hear this "I don't want a busted arrow " crap all the time and it absolutely s%$ts me to tears...

Sorry to disappoint Sparra but recurve vs compound, the compound will throw out the same weight arrow (same poundage) faster time after time that the recurve will. You will need two lots of arrows.

Yeah, you just can't beat weight for penetration. Love a heavy shaft with a good broadhead up front for hunting. What static spine are the shafts you blokes are using? It may help some bloke (or Blokette) in sorting out shafts for a new bow they get. I will have a few more setups from my brother and...

No recurve, not in QLD unfortunaly. The pigs are out of hand up this way (Mackay area). Maybe one day though.
Torsten,
In Qld it is much the same as Vic, only the only hunting allowed is on private land with the landowners permission of course.

I agree about the Robertson bows. I have a couple. They are as sweet a bow to shoot as you will find anywhere and pretty to. In my opinion one of the best recurves out there. Certainly the best I have shot and I have shot a lot of custom built's.
