Re: Big Game Hunting Poundages ???
Using foam targets won't tell you much at all as they have little relevance to real body tissue. Assuming the arrows are tuned to the bow correctly, from any given bow the slower heavier arrow will always out penetrate a faster lighter arrow. Jeff I agree Jeff, foam is no match for body tissue. I t...

Re: Big Game Hunting Poundages ???
I'm relatively new to trad bowhunting, but this thread got me thinking that perhaps my carbon arrows are to light to hunt with (437gr). Bearing in mind I wont be using this gear for buffalo. So went out to my broadhead target for some testing. Took two arrows, both Easton ST Epic 400 cut to 30"...

Re: leather on shelf
Lindsay: The loop side, not the hook side I assume. How well does it work? G'day Alan, The loop side mate, works real well, very little friction between arrow and riser, they last me about a month and are super simple to replace, I buy the round spots (about 20mm dia) and trim them to suit, peel th...

Re: Dave Beeler Longbow
I like the looks of Beeler's bows, but with my long 30" draw, I'm afraid his 56" & 58" bows will give me finger pinch. I draw 29.5" and have no trouble with the 56" bow, but I do shoot two fingers under. Nice bow Lindsey will be interesting to see if it takes the kohhan...

Dave Beeler Longbow
Spent the last couple of days shooting my new longbow from Dave Beeler. It's the first one in Australia and I could'nt be happier, it's everything I'd heard they were and more, smooth to draw, stable to shoot, quiet, and very reasonably priced (the list goes on). If your looking for a new bow I woul...
