Re: The difference in shooting various 'longbow' designs.

In defence of the HH longbows, there is a good chance that the actual 'grip' shape can make a huge difference. I had a Kramer takedown when they moved over and made their own bows "Autumn Longbows". It was an 83lb menace styled after the Wesley Special, yet I suffered little to no handshoc...

Re: Black Swan Hybrid Longbow

This is either the same bow or a very similar one to a bow I used to own. My go to bow is either a Gary Sentman or HH longbow around 65 to 70 pounds and this Black Swan Hybrid was 'almost' too much bow for me. Very powerful and beautiful bow.

Seconded on the Sage, you could do a lot worse for the money and you have the option to buy heavier or lighter limbs for the Sage riser as you please.

Re: Okay...What Is It About the Longbow..?

The lure of the longbow for me was a simple one. I just shoot them better than I do other bows. Its a beautiful cycle, I shoot better because I enjoy shooting the longbow over other bows.

Re: Damon Howatt (Martin) Hunter recurve 100# @ 28"

I guess my main worry is that at 28 inches we have a weight if 110lbs, if the bow is marked as 100 @ 28 then this would indicate a draw weight of 110lb and no stacking or 110lb and stacking. If Fanto says it does not stack @ 28, that is well and good but my draw length on a recurve is about 29 and a...

Re: Damon Howatt (Martin) Hunter recurve 100# @ 28"

Hi Fraser, I tend to like my heavier bows as longbows, had a few up above the 80lb mark and one Kramer longbow that was close to 90lb. The last heavier recurve I owned was a Martin lynx old seventies style bow with a metal riser from the old lynx compound and a pair of Hatfield limbs, came in around...

I think it's great the daughter wanted to get into longbows because she watched the movie (there is a plus right away). After watching a Barbie movie where Barbie and her mates run around like the three musketeers, I had my four year old daughter pick up one of the plastic safe practise foils (fenci...

Yup, In line with their previous failures of trapping, if they plan to bait it will also only knock em back. It's a shame WA legsilation around hunting on crown land is so backward. It just encourages a lively underground poaching culture, rather than allowing hunting to be a family pastime within r...
