Perry, swami, huddo0312, slinkymalinky, GrahameA why not read the first post again to see what this thread was really about rather than trying to turn it into a Trad versus Compound thing. :x Jeff I too read the whole of the first post. Funny you should bring this up bstan86 and then describe the bloke hunting with you as "using a wheely device". Mmm.

Re: Bow Licence in NSW???
Of course we need regulation and licensing. It's worked for firearms. We don't have any illegal gun use in this country.... ABA and Game Council? Wouldn't **** on 'em.

Get on Port Wakefield road, drive til it stops, backtrack a little and go knock on some doors.Yorke Peninsula is full of bunnies and foxes. It, and the riverland, is where I started bowhunting many years ago. Good luck.

Huddo. This is a campfire and I say nothing here that I would not say direct to your face. So leave off the e-bravado tactic. So let's stick to the issues eh? This is not about non-confomity but about a statement being made and you getting called on it. Interpret the responses how you will but I fa...

Re: Paul Hogan
Once again Plucker, my apologies for my non-conformity. Of course you are right as usual. How dare I or anybody else differ in an opinion from your great self. And dare to voice such. Interesting how your arguments always seem to degenerate from rationale and insight into name calling and put downs....

Re: Paul Hogan
Sorry Plucker. I didn't mean to voice my opinion on this site. You're quite right of course, I don't have the facts of this case, other than what is reported in the press, so am unqualified to comment. And since we have no right to freedom of speech in this country, I shall take my "hands off i...

From a great Paul Hogan fan, the prick needs to pay what he owes and stop bagging the country that made him what he is today... Re: ABA who's a member?
Thank you Mick and Steve, I stand corrected. And am better informed for your efforts. Due to information that has come to light arising from an incident at a recent ABA meeting I still won't be joining the ABA. My reasons are twofold; firstly I'm just not convinced that the ABA is really doing much ...

Hi Huddo, Your liability with regard to your home contents insurance covers property aswell. An example- your shopping trolley full of groceries escapes you in the carpark and impacts a car. The damage is claimable against your contents insurance. Steve Steve, I'm afraid we'll have to agree to disa...

Re: ABA who's a member?
Huddo, Have you looked into what your Home and Contents insurance covers as far as public and property liability is concerned? Jeff Jeff, my Home and Contents insurance covers my home and it's contents in the event of damage caused by certain events. The public liability component covers the "...

Re: ABA who's a member?
Thanks for the replies David(dmm), I appreciate your input. However, while receiving cover may be a nice benefit, your information and that given you by Matt61 is quite incorrect. Public liability insurance is for the public only. It does not cover you if you "shoot something you shouldn't"...

ABA who's a member?
G'day people Don't get on much any more, but a conversation the other night got me thinking. I was asking a cattleman about the possibility of access to his property on the Cape for a future hunt. First up he says as I'm not a member of ABA I have a mark against me because I'm not covered by insuran...

Mackeral on the fly
Last neap tides Old Mate rings and says, "You wanna go offshore and chase some mackeral?" To which I says, "Wadda you reckon!" So we organise a day and I fly down the hill from home to meet him at the boat ramp at five, having thrown the long esky in the cruiser and filled it wit...

Sorry for your loss Mate. I've been in the transport industry for many years and I can honestly(and proudly) say I have never had an item go missing from one of my trucks. Unfortunately, as in all sectors there are a few undesirables in my industry. Sign of the times I'm afraid, and it will never im...

Re: Picture of a large pig fact or fiction
Dunno about the authenticity of this pic but I don't really doubt it. I remember reading "Outdoors" magazines(where I got my hunting addiction) in the seventies where 400lb pigs weren't uncommon. Particularly around the Macquarie Marshes from memory. In my dogging days we've had teams of d...

Re: Who has a backyard target butt???
A couple of points to consider. Check your butt regularly, as you'll generally hit the same spots on it repeatedly and weaken those areas. Eventually you will penetrate the butt and potentially cause a dangerous situation. And secondly, I start my draw at about 45 degrees and lower my bow arm as I d...

Re: mossies and flies
As a few people have already mentioned, commercial repellents are full of nasty chemicals. I figure if the chemicals in repellents can ward off insects then I probably don't want them on my skin(delicate little flower that I am). Dettol and baby oil is popular around here. I'm a bit the same with su...

Re: What to you is a Good or Bad Broadhead
Otis I still prefer the Tuskers simply because Bill stocks them in Cairns and while they are only 5 bucks each they represent the best value for money. The only reason I ever preferred Ribteks is because they are easier to sharpen. By the time I mail order Ribteks and pay postage it's easier to go t...
