Re: Repairing 3D targets

Hi Matt I have never used any of these, but just did a quick search on google. There seems to be a few people out there supplying 3D target repair kits. Here are a couple of links to give you an idea https://www.3dtrf.com/ https://www.3dtrf.com/product-category/3d-target-repair-foam/ http://www.lanc...

Re: Proposed 2017 Trad shoots

My take is this. Clubs need to offset their costs, events need to be cost neutral and they should make a profit. If the costing is such that a price is "$X" and people are not willing to pay such then attendences will go down. The lack of people is the penalty for setting a price that peo...

Re: Proposed 2017 Trad shoots

Main stream clubs, not lacking funds. No Extras, still had to pay for main meals etc. This fee was works out on a rate of $1 per arrow!! These shoots were 50 arrow weekends, one arrow per target. In a line of an old movie "Tell em the're dreaming"

Re: Proposed 2017 Trad shoots

A couple of clubs down here in Mexico (on their own accord) got greedy and tried to charge $50 for a weekend shoot. This backfired badly on them with not many people bothering to tuning up. Perhaps this is the case here, the clubs may feel that once the fees reach a certain level it just puts people...

Re: Thumb Ring for recurve

Thanks Perry

I think i tend to agree; it should come about as part of the natural form and not as a deliberate torquing of the bow. But now you have made me want to look up a full copy of the "War of the Arrow" with english subtitles preferably :)

Re: Shield cut or Parabolic for Broadheads

We must also keep in mind that animals can also hear different frequencies then we humans do, for example Although deer can hear ultrasonic sounds, their hearing is most sensitive to moderate frequencies between 4,000 to 8,000 hertz. Humans also hear best at moderate frequencies between 2,000 to 5,0...

Re: Simple, inclusive, functional traditonal recommendations

Hi Toby These rules seem ok. I would probably still like to see the longbow division split into modern and traditional similar the IFAA and ABA ground rules, but it’s certainly not a deal breaker with me. This is just a general question to the forum though and may open a can of worms!! But what is t...

Re: Simple, inclusive, functional traditonal recommendations

When you have tuned your bow to your setup that's it, you don't tune it again unless you change your setup. It will shoot NO better than any other well made & tuned bow. Hi Toby Yes the old “they will adjust their bows (ILF) during competition” cherry! Let me play the devil’s advocate for a mom...

Re: Simple, inclusive, functional traditonal recommendations

Just a little side track for a moment, I don’t remember reading in these treads the mentioned the IFAA rule for differentiating between the style’s of modern longbow. This rule seems simple, sensible to me. What are people’s thoughts about this? Referenced from “International Field Archery Associati...

Re: Bows that are Trad for comps / events

Dare I say it 8) Are steel bow trad? V. R. Dikshitar, in his book, says that "steel was the new invention and the old things were cast aside for the new". He is probably referring to the Mughal period, when the steel bow was widely used. J. S. Lee, in his article dealing with steel bows, o...

Another question :!:

When shooting ELB and using the C mandible anchor point, then beside the jaw.

When string-walking it is variable.

Re: Third week, third question

Three under for me Ian I use to shoot split but when shooting gap we were talking about a maximum gap in yards not inches, with the arrow not even in the secondary vision. When I changed it brought my point on from something like 60 yards down to 45. Three under is a definite advantage with gapping ...
